    Down From Paris is a five-piece original hard rock/metal band based in The City of Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. They have a heavy powerful sound, interspersed with melodic moments and seasoned with several influential flavours spanning from Stone Temple Pilots to Disturbed, Sound Garden, Tool and Metallica. The group is perpetually evolving and consistently pumping out innovative hard-edged riffs and lyrics stimulated by political and social commentary. Down From Paris released a self-titled 5 song EP in February of 2012 which is also available on itunes and they are currently working on their first full-length album. Driven by the rush of performance, this high energy group occupies its time looking for and participating in underground shows, choice bar gigs, interactive personal parties and other special venues such as competitions and festivals like Summer Fest Sudbury. In other words, at every opportunity to play, they are ready to deliver. Recently, they earned an opportunity to open for the Headpins and Nazareth on opening night at the Spanish Rock and Roar 2011. Shannon Quesnel, reporter for the Elliot Lake Standard witnessed the performance and writes: "… it was clear they were a very polished group… while Down From Paris played a harder, more metal rock than most, the audience appeared to eat it up." Down From Paris went on to win the Sudbury Music Scene "Music is Life" Competition in the fall of 2011 and used the proceeds to record and release their 5 song EP in 2012. The boys also headlined the New Music Fest Sudbury in the summer of 2012. No question, Down From Paris brings an aggressive sound, a certain degree of professionalism and a whole lot of dynamic energy to every show, for every crowd, big or small.

Bio:

Straight forward rock with an edge, "Down From Paris" is a 5-piece rock band that was formed in the summer of 2007 and is based out of Sudbury ON. Curtis Hannon (bass) and Remi Leclair (guitars) had been writing jointly for several years and with the addition of Andre Poulin (drums) and Joe Morin (guitars), songs started coming together. We are currently working with a new singer, Denis Rainville(vocals) and are putting together new songs to go with our previously recorded material. Look for us to be playing somewhere in your area soon.
