Despite playing over 500 shows in the last 3 years, Down Lo has managed to come together with Los Angeles based rapper Deploi to produce a slammin', funk hip hop album with hard hitting beats, funky breaks, flowing lyrics and catchy melodies.
Aptly titled In Our World, this sophomore album from Down Lo, and the first full length record collaboration with Deploi, reflects the range of emotions and states experienced in life. From the good times to the bad, world issues to personal relationships, high class parties to dirt poor living...it's all here!
Deploi has dominated the stage with Down Lo on and off since the band’s inception in 2003. Already established as a professional, hard-hitting rapper in southern California, Deploi brings the suave, smooth SoCal flavor to the eager and impassioned Midwest jam scene. Currently promoting his own release, Cali Cruisin’ Mixtape, Deploi is no stranger to the venues and festivals of the Midwest. The two groups have packed shows at the Cabooze and Bunkers in Minneapolis, Harmony Park in southern Minnesota and rocked appearances at 10,000 Lakes Festival in 2005 and 2007.

I just wanted to stop by to say hello and give you a little update on what Blood Root Mother is up to! We will be recording an EP of new music in August, and we recently finished recording a live DVD. The DVD is currently unreleased and I actually just saw it for the first time a few days ago. It features the last two performances with Tony Ellis still alive, and some footage from the tribute show we played on the night of his funeral.
There are some cool covers, as well as some NEW music that will be on our upcoming EP. We're very excited about the new music and we'd like to share a sneak peak with you. Here's a video of a new tune called Run Bobby Run:

Dred I Dread, an award winning Reggae and Hip Hop band fronted by Peewee Dread and Rawle G, is proud to announce the release of their third album entitled ‘Tribulation'. An album release party is scheduled on June 27, 2009 at the Bunkers Music Bar & Grill, Minneapolis , MN .
With ‘Tribulation’ Dred I Dread sets a new standard at the local original music scene by releasing two new albums, independently produced and locally recorded within 7 months. All this was possible due to the continued support of the fans and friends of the band during the last 11 years of existence of Dred I Dread.
Dred I Dread will perform songs from ‘Tribulation’ and also brand new Singles such as 'Bushman Riddim/ Free Mama Earth’, ‘Global War’ and ‘What is the Reason?’ during this show. These new singles are also scheduled for an up coming album release on December 2009.

A grateful place where Garcia fans will be gathering! It also marks the celebration of Jerry Garcia's 67th Birthday, plus the 14th Anniversary of Jerry's untimely passing. We have leased the campground venue for July 30th though August 3rd 2009 for our 6th annual music festival.

Blood Root Mother will be playing at Trocaderos in Minneapolis on Friday, June 26th. I cannot stress enough how awesome this show will be!! We're playing with three of the sweetest local rock bands: Claret, Niobium and Casanatra. If you haven't heard these guys, check them out immediately! Please come to this show!!
