About me:
I am a mom on a mission. Currently, 90% of expecting parents that find out their unborn child has Down Syndrome choose to terminate the pregnancy. When we found out our daughter might have Down Syndrome, there was not much positive information about what it might be like to parent a child with cognitive challenges.

I can tell you from experience that so far it has been a joy! We want to show the truth about these wonderful and amazing children. People with Down Syndrome are capable of so much and lead full, happy and quality lives.

Please help us on our mission for education and equality. I have created this page of links, information and resources for new and future parents to demystify Down Syndrome and show that it is a far cry from the "end of the world." I want to show the truth and wonder of parenting a child that is "special" in any way, whether cognitively challenged or physically challenged. How many more people will miss out on one of the most wonderful and fulfilling parenting experiences simply because they don't have the information they need? Abortion is still an option, but it is not a CURE for Down Syndrome.

The birds are more melodious and more species are chiming into the avian choir. Occasionally there is a tiny crocus peeking up out of the cold mud. It's Daylight Savings Time, which is always welcome when the days are longer and the nights shorter. And today, I saw ants crawling around on the cracked streets! It's a time of Hope.
