    DOWN TO REST is a Original Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Band from Chicago, IL USA. DOWN TO REST was formed in August of 2008 on the Southwest Side-Midway Airport Area of Chicago by Lee Herrera (Drums) & Dr.Loe Farias (Guitar/Vocals) after their previous band KILBOURN (Retrospect Records) disbanded. Brian Corbin (Lead Vocals) was hired on within a couple weeks, after coming out of a successful run with the local cover band LYNT. The trio immediately started writing material, and was in search for a Bassist. DOWN TO REST became a complete band in January 2009 when Jeff Wallace (Bass) was hired after calling it quits with his band THE INSTIGATORS OF PEACE. From there, DOWN TO REST really started to write & collaborate their original style of Heavy Metal/Hard Rock music. DOWN TO REST's sound is heavy, powerful and rather tasteful with a mixture between Disturbed, Pantera, Alter Bridge, Slipknot, & a touch of Slayer. It combines elements from all Heavy Metal & Hard Rock into a pretty cool-sounding package that would actually be fairly easy to take for most all Metal & Modern Hard Rock fans. DOWN TO REST started to demo their songs in the early start of 2009 in Chicago, IL at Studio Chicago with producer Chris Guerzo (Chris G. Productions), at WuLi Records with owner/producer/engineer Louis Svitek (former Ministry / M.O.D. / Mindfunk guitarist), and at I.V. Lab Studios with producer/engineer Manny Sanchez. In their very short time being a band, DOWN TO REST really came together and start to snowball onto the local music scene in March of 2009 with their very first public appearance for a T.V. performance & interview with Tattoo Factory TV which aired on Chicago's WPWR / My50 television station. Their first concert was played 4 days after that in Janesville, WI at venue known for hosting national & regional bands. From there, they kept moving forward, writing more material, and scheduled & played numerous shows each month. 2009 had been a productive & very busy year for this quartet. Regional Concerts Played, Photo Shoots, Three T.V. Taping Appearances for local networks, Local Area Sponsorship, Rock Scarz Magazine Features, and opening up for DORO (Doro Pesch). In less than a year of being a complete band, DOWN TO REST (aka "DTR" as their loyal hardcore fans like to call them) have managed to to build quite a huge fan base, and create quite a buzz thru interviews, local radio, TV appearances, good 'ol fashion networking, & playing shows. During the year of 2010, DOWN TO REST was busy writing more material, playing numerous local & regional shows, and continued to build on their ever growing fanbase. DTR puts on a great Live show in concert. The chemistry between the band members & interaction with the fans is truly amazing. These individuals definitely have a 100% passion for the music they play, and it shows in their recorded songs & live on stage. In February of 2011, DOWN TO REST and Vocalist Brian Corbin have mutually decided to part ways due to musical indifferences. In April of 2011, DTR hired the services of Kris Small to handle the Lead Vocals along with adding him on as an additional Guitarist. Due to musical direction differences with Kris, he was fired in June of 2011. In July of 2011, DOWN TO REST went on hiatus for the rest of the year.
