This is your official invitation to get your
Santa on in 2009. This year we will once again feature a festivous
mixture of Christmas-tide stops, both new and old. Again we'll have
eight full hours of Santa-stic revelry in which you bring your unique
brand of Christmas cheer to the streets of Chicago, and to festive
locations all around the city. No one does Christmas cheer like you do
. . . so come out again this year and join us for another rockin
    rampage of Holiday Cheer!

    Here are the details:

    WHO: You.

    WHAT:
Santa Kong is Chicago's oldest and most heralded Whiskey Santa Rampage.
Although you do not need to be Santa, you are required to have a
costume that represents your holiday spirit. Examples from the past
are; santa, reindeer, trees, presents, dreidels, elves (both evil and
nice), etc., etc. You will get an 8 hour bus tour with free drinks on
the bus. We will be making many stops around town spreading are special
brand of cheer through out. These stops will include Quencher's, the
Daley Plaza, Macey's the ABC News filming window, the Billy Goat
Tavern, the Twisted Spoke, and more!

    WHEN: Saturday, December
12th. Our Santas meet at 2:00 PM to begin festi-fying our busses. The
buses leave Quencher's at 3PM, Return at 11PM

    WHERE: As is
tradition, we will start at Quencher's Bar, located at 2401 N. Western
Avenue. By way of changing things up, we will NOT ending at Quencher's
this year. Our final stopping point will be forthcoming. Quencher's is
located at the corner of Western and Fullerton Avenues.

WHY: Too many reasons to list here.

    HOW
DO I PARTICIPATE? Tickets for this event are $26 and you must get your
ticket by December 8th. To purchase your ticket please paypal your $26
to pocketbook@synchroni-city.org. You can paypal for yourself along

    Holy Smokes!

It's once again time for the Swell-Time Cabaret!

The concept is simple:  Pasties. Shtick. Honky Tonk. Music.

Join the fabulous burlesque of the Knock Knock Hot Spot, the honktified sounds of Indiana Bandana, and yours truly, Downtown Dave, for an evening of old-timey cabaret at the most unique little venue in Chicago - the Speakeasy Cabaret!

The Swell-time Cabaret takes you back to a time when whiskey was whiskey, beer was beer, women were women, men were men, and white people had rhythm.

Man that was a long time ago!

In addition to fantastic entertainment, the historic Green Door Tavern features delicious food, great drink specials and friendly folks. Try the portobello mushroom fries - they're to die for!

Interests

Blurbs

About me:

I'm Downtown Dave. My interests include being awesome, spreading awesomeness to places where it's sadly lacking, things that are fun, and freaking squares. Turn-ons include sunlight, music, the Chicago White Sox, left wing politics, the Chicago Fire, all fire, and educating young minds. Oh and shellfish. I love shellfish. Turn-offs include anyone who self-describes themselves as a conservative, or a Republican, and (not coincidentally) people who can't make fun of themselves, and who are too cool to dance. ....

Who I'd like to meet:

Bill Hicks, but he's dead. Damn.
