About me:
Hi! We're a group of Downtown Oakland residents, workers, storeowners and clubbers! We are so excited about the recent renaissance of downtown and we know that Ignacio De La Fuente deserves a lot of the credit. He's the only candidate that's advocating continued economic revitalization in a realistic way. He's the only candidate that whole-heartedly supports charter schools and educational innovation. He's the only candidate that hasn't talked about restricting growth and business for political reasons. He's the only candidate that doesn't want to limit artists' use of warehouses. He's the only candidate that can deliver the increased police presence that downtown needs to succeed. We young Oaklanders love our downtown and the opportunities its growth allows us.

Who I'd like to meet:
People who hang out in downtown Oakland! All the folks who are into the great new things happening in and around downtown Oakland, and who want our elected officials to be supportive of our efforts, not intent on imposing their own idea of what downtown should be. People who don't look at downtown only as a source of tax revenue, and want to see more overall police for both downtown and neighborhood community policing.
Iggy had made himself incredibly available to any group in Oakland. Like the East Bay Rats and the Art Murmur, DTO4DLF invited Ignacio to meet with downtowners and listen to our concerns. Saturday May 20 Ignacio spoke extensively with over twenty clubbers and met dozens more. He was greeted with adulation at the last stop of the night, Cafe Van Kleef. He really heard our concerns! We are so excited to have met him and really appreciate his hard work on behalf of all Oaklanders!
