DTR is pleased to announce the implementation of it's new online streaming facility. You can now listen the to music genre of your choice and also select the artist you want to hear.
Click on any of the 'LISTEN NOW' buttons found throughout the site and a pop up window will open.
Here you can make your genre specific selection.
Once the player window opens you just click on the play button and the music will start streaming through to you in full stereo OR you can scroll down the list and select the specific artist you want to hear.. There's also other control buttons so you can play the next or previous track, a pause and stop button as well as volume control.
Check it out now, we're sure you'll be pleasantly surprised.

If you are an Original Independent Artist or Band and you would like to receive airplay on Downunda Thunda Radio and our sister broadcast facility Lizard Lounge Radio just go the DTR Get Airplay page, follow the instructions and your on your way.
DTR broadcasts 24/Seven WorldWide to an audience in over 45 countries.
All we ask is the you place a DTR banner on your website, tell your friends about us and just be a part of the DTR independent music family.
We have a monthly featured artists section on DTR and LLR and you could be in the running for further promotion and exposure of your material. Add a comment on the DTR MySpace profile and you could also be placed on our testimonial page.
Over the next few months DTR will be implementing further promotional additions to our site so keep an eye on our MySpace bulletins and news updates.

We have added a new category to our on site music stream player.
All new artists signing up for airplay go straight into high rotation on our NEW RELEASE stream and current artists will be rotated through this stream as well to give further exposure to the many talented genre presently being aired on DTR.
To give you a clearer idea of the process:
Independent music artists submit their music for inclusion on the DTR playlist. Each track is quality tested to ensure that they comply with the DTR standard criteria for airplay. This includes checking each track for the proper recording format as follows: MP3 - 128kbps - 44100Hz - Stereo.
We have also changed the labeling of each track and ask that you submit your songs with the following naming convention: ARTIST NAME - SONG TITLE - ALBUM TITLE - COUNTRY NAME.mp3
If the tracks are only single releases you don't have to include the Album Title. You will also see tracks using the old naming convention but these will be progressively changed to the new format as we get to them.
By ensuring that all your tracks have the above recording and naming criteria you will be saving us time sorting and renaming your tracks and will get your music onto the playlist quicker.
Due to the high number of tracks being received by DTR, Please allow up to 4 weeks for your tracks to appear on our playlists BUT we will endeavour to get your songs heard as soon as possible before this time constraint.
Tracks on the NEW RELEASES playlist are now being aired from the following independent music artists and more are being added each day.

"THE DIRT TRACK DEMONS" perform at The DOWNUNDA THUNDA RADIO '2008 Independent Music Showcase, held over the weekend 1st & 2nd of November 2008, was held to celebrate the 1st Birthday / Anniversary of Downunda Thunda Radio which began world wide broadcasting on the 1st of November 2007.
In all 23 Bands and artists appeared on the showcase over the two days. The music was excellent all weekend with all acts putting in a professional and polished performance, sound man Brad Scott-Kemmis from HOTMIX Audio did a stellar job mixing the various genre that were presented and over 28 out of the 48 hour period the party never waned.

Downunda Thunda Radio would like to extend a special thanks to all the artists, bands and acts that gave up their time to appear on the showcase. A special thanks goes out to the behind the scenes operators who helped make the event the success that it was: Drum City Music City Sydney, Gary Page Signs and Graphics, HOTMIX Audio, The LIVE HOUSE Venue and our volunteer crew who helped with the pole posters, band load in and general roustabout work, without you none of this would have been possible.

DOWNUNDA THUNDA RADIO ROLLS OUT GENRE SPECIFIC PROGRAMMING
Downunda Thunda Radio (DTR) in association with Lizard Lounge Radio (LLR), are two Australian based internet radio stations with continuous broadcasting to the world 24/Seven of original independent music.
Since the commencement of broadcasts on November 1st 2007 and offering all genre broadcasting for independent music artists, both sites have been inundated with requests for airplay by Australian, New Zealand and International Independent Music artists and bands.
Boasting over nearly 500 music acts and close to 2000 tracks on both of their play lists they have now introduced 'GENRE SPECIFIC PROGRAMMING'.
With the current migration to the new servers it gives us the opportunity to categorise our play lists and present a more user friendly 'Genre Specific Programming' format.
Hopefully this will make our listeners a lot more happy, being able to listen to new music of the genre they prefer and staying connected to our streams longer."
Bands who want airplay on the DTR and LLR broadcasting facilities, sign up via a Material Release Form which grants us permission to play the artists material and grants us a waiver for payment of royalties.
If you have submitted your songs or have a current MRF in place and don't see your name on these lists don't despair. Please send an email to info@downundathundaradio.com.au asking about this we will chase it up for you and get back to you with a response or explanation.
