A banda Downward Path iníciou suas atividades em 2002 quando Ricardo Santos resolveu formar um projeto para fazer música inspirada em bandas Coldwave, Electro Gótico, E.B.M. e Industrial dos 1980's.
Após a gravação do primeiro CD Demo Operation Mindfuck a banda contou por um curto periodo (2003/2004) com os vocais de Claudia Fabiana (atualmente no Scarlet Leaves). O resultado de sua colaboração rendeu os CD Demo "Dark Genesis" (de onde saiu a faixa "Apart" e "Melissa") e "In Darkness and Solitude".
O ano de 2005 foi marcado pela colaboração com a vocalista/atriz Demona Bast (E.U.A.) e a gravação da Faixa "Black Tears" como parte do CD Demo "Whispered Brutality or the Girl Who Went Astray"
Depois de um hiato de 2 anos a banda retorna com a participação na coletânea Retratos Subterraneos oraganizada pelo jornalista Rodrigo Helfenstein ao lado de bandas como Elegia, Plastique Noir e Pecadores. A faixa SinKing mostrava uma mudança em relação ao material anterior e Ricardo nos vocais.
O período de 2007/2008 teve como resultado a Demo "Suicide Hall" e a colaboração da baixista Arianne Stephanie (Sinapse, Histamina 80's, The Forest) e do tecladista Reginaldo Martendal além do retorno da vocalista Claudia para alguns shows além da colaboração do Vocalista Inglês Paul Devine (Siiiii, Niceville, Deep Valley Orgasm) na gravação de "The Scourge".
Em 2009 com a estabilização da Formação como um Duo formado por Vivian Eisenacher e Ricardo Santos a banda se encontra em estúdio gravando material para o lançamento do primeiro CD oficial em 2010 pela Híbrido Records.

Thanks for adding me. Atomizer was incredible. Those drums were intense and the synth work was incredible. I loved Wired. Your synth sequences are so complex. Like the stadium drum beat before the pause. That synth on Succession V1 was incredible. You have that high tech electronic style I wish I could create. Keep up the awesome music.
