For Dave Pendergraft spending the typical November day just north east of San Antonio turned out to be a just another day for him, specially since he lives in a small town near there. However, this day was not like some. Dave had a short meeting with some of Nashville's top brass when Richard Voss showed up in town for a business meeting with a local radio station. Dave had no idea this chance meeting could develop into a recording contract with MGM Records Nashville, but it did. January 1st turned out to be a day that added the first Christian Country act to the roster for MGM Records Nashville when they added Dave Pendergraft to the label. Pendergraft a former dance hall singer took some time away from the industry then came back playing Christian Country music and as his growing legion of fans will tell you, he shows no signs of slowing down with the release of his latest work Honkytonks To Heaven. Dave released the first single Needed in January 2007. With Needed getting world wide airplay and cd sales booming, Dave is now planning his first tour with excitement. March 1, Dave will be releasing his second single, Jesus Thank You, with the promotion of RhonBob Promotions from Kodak, Tn as well as going into the studio to start recording his next project scheduled for release in the spring of 2008. With the doors that God has opened, 2007 seems to be the year that Dave’s music will reach the world in such a way as not seen to very many times, Country music with the message being all about Jesus. "I played country music most of my life. Not only was I singing Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound, but I was the perfect model of it. I started playing the bars and places like that at the age of 11 years old. I decided to lay it down after 20 years of making my living that way and get a normal job. I was still that perfect model of being whiskey bent and hell bound though, but that all changed in 2001. I have been married for almost 28 years and 24 of those years I spent drunk. I spend my time when I am not singing or writing spending time with my family. My wife, daughter, and two grandkids, Cody and Katie, are the highlights of my life."
When Jesus Christ asked little children to come to him, he didn't say only rich children, or White children, or children with two-parent families, or children who didn't have a mental or physical handicap. A little faith will bring your soul to heaven, but a lot of faith will bring heaven to your soul. Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.
If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded. When dealing with the insane, the best method is to pretend to be sane. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. The vision that you glorify in your mind, the ideal that you enthrone in your heart this you will build your life by, and this you will become. Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now.Life is a bed of water filling from many springs and we seem not to know when one gushing flow will oe'r flood the banks only to be succeeded by a drought. Every time you wake up and ask yourself, "What good things am I going to do today?", remember that when the sun goes down at sunset, it will take a part of your life with it. I do not want to get to the end of my life and find that I just lived the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well. Life is like a grapefruit. It's orange and squishy, and has a few pips in it, and some folks have half a one for breakfast. How would man exist if God did not need him, and how would you exist? You need God in order to be, and God needs you for that is the meaning of your life.
Some people brought little children to Jesus to have him hold them. But the disciples told the people not to do that. When Jesus saw this, he became irritated. He told them, "Don't stop the children from coming to me. Children like these are part of the kingdom of God. I can guarantee this truth: Whoever doesn't receive the kingdom of God as a little child receives it will never enter it." Mar 10:13-16
