Lots of em. Too many sometimes. These days, it's been a lot of "reading about reading" as a friend of mine commented. That means reading about how people think about literacy. Besides all the school stuff, I am into, I also can't get enough of college sports and the NFL. Looking forward to March Madness, though.
I write about my academic interests here on my website.
Movies
I went to school with this guy...he wants to be the new Planet Smoothie mascot:
Television
I don't watch much TV other than ESPN and Comedy Central. But these days, I don't get to watch much of anything. I am trying to catch up on HBO's Rome, though.
Books
This will seem boring to most of you. Lots of academic stuff. Best thing recently: Shirley Brice Heath's Ways with Words.
About me: I am a graduate student at the University of California, Berkeley. One of the things I am really interested in is how people use technology in creative ways. For example, take MySpace. What's up with all of the codes that people use to change the way your page looks? How do you all figure out how to do that? How do you find all of the stuff that you put all over your profiles? To me, that's interesting. I was really into drawing, comic books, and art when I was a kid, so I think that's part of the reason I find what this stuff so cool.
I work for a research group at Berkeley called Digital Youth where we are looking at the social lives of young people and trying to understand how technology "fits" into their lives.
