About me:
We the D-Q Unity Coalition are a conglomeration of students and community based groups whom have united to save D-Q university. Are goal is to revive D-Q in its original vision as written in the "proposal for an indigenous university" by Jack Forbes, the very same document in which D-Q was founded on. It is a social imperative that D-Q continue on its path of providing a place for higher learning for both native and chican@ peoples, being the only university where these two groups can educate themselves from the perspective of native peoples, and keep strong an identity that the system has tried so desperately to destroy.
We are asking YOU, the community, to please help us in our struggle to save what has been a cornerstone in the indigenous movement. We need teachers, funds to revitalize the campus and make necessary repairs, and lawyers to help us take control of the campus from those corrupt individuals whom continue to prosper from the despair of
D-Q.
Every 1st and 3rd sunday of every month we have our coalition meetings you are welcome to attend..this month May 3rd and May 17th..thank you

Recently many of you have heard the rumors and accusations made by Matzasin against the D-Q unity coalition, going as far as calling us racist. This however, is ridiculous, the DQ unity coalition stands for both natives from the north as well as the south. The incident depicted in the video above tells only half of the story, editing out the words of the women whom tell of the disrespect of ceremonial grounds done by Matzasin and his students. This so called ceremony that they were doing was done without the permission by the spiritual elders of the land. They were smoking weed on ceremonial grounds, as well as urinating and defacating on the land. The call to remove the structure was made by Darroll Standing Elk, the spiritual leader of DQ. Bill Wright, the patwin spiritual leader, told us to lock the grounds up. We, the Dq unity coalition respect our elders, and thats what this was all about, respect for the land and ways of a peoples culture. They say we disrupted the love at Dq, but without respect, how could there be any love.
