DR SKETCHY' S ANTI-ART SCHOOL
The most exciting thing to EVER happen to life drawing is coming to Denver!! Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School started in Brooklyn, spread to LA, Austin, Melbourne and Scotland and now Denver welcomes its own branch of what has been described as, "What happens when cabaret meets art-school."
Following the guidance of founder Molly Crabapple, burlesque queen and former art school girl Vivienne VaVoom of Burlesque As It Was brings in burlesque dancers, roller derby girls, fetish models, drag queens and lots of other fascinating subjects for her "students" to sketch. Fabulous prizes are awarded for the winners of wacky drawing contests, and the class is open to artists of all skills.
Even if you can’t draw, we'll give you coloring book pages and crayons so you can participate and feel arty too!
All dry mediums are okay, as are dip pens and neat watercolor sets. No oil paints, messy mediums or stinky mediums. Photographers are welcome as long as they do not use flash and are respectful of the other artists and do not block anyone’s view. Seating is first come, first serve.

Who I'd like to meet: Artists, the curious, burlesque gals, roller queens, fetish practicioners, wild drag queens and anyone with great costumes and/or props and a great stage presence!
Our first event is May 16th and its turning out to be a big one! Hope to see you there. Artists/vendors are still welcome to sign up, but we're selling out of vendor space fast!!
