Dragonfly (aka Gary Newton) is a Melbourne based rapper and spoken word
artist who has also dabbled in film, theatre and comedy.
Initially gaining exposure by competing in rap battles both in Australia
and the UK, Dragonfly has earned a reputation as an eccentric and
charismatic persona both on and off the stage.
Drawing from disparate influences including eastern philosophy,
british comedy and beat literature, Dragonfly has evolved a truly
unique lyrical style and personal philosophy which is communicated in
his songs and poetry with his trademark humour and irony.
In addition to being a rapper and entrepreneur, Dragonfly is also
a youth mentor and a coach for young and emerging artists. Over the last
ten years he has worked in schools, prisons and communities running
songwriting and recording workshops designed to empower young people by
providing them with a creative outlet.
Recently having trained as a life-coach at Melbourne's Coaching
Institute Dragonfly is now facilitating creative empowerment workshops
for young people as well as running one-on-one coaching sessions
for anyone wanting more direction in their life, career or artform.
Dragonfly can be contacted here for live bookings, workshops and
coaching.

No worries dude, it's good shit. I'm interested to hear what you work on next, there's a real skill to good spoken word, and it's nice to hear someone pull it off well with a hip-hop style. Keep me updated, mate, I will do likewise.
I'm fairly sure I've seen you in some of those street battles? Or maybe it was an audio recording of something. I really like your spoken word, hey, the primate who has everything is awesome. You do poetry slams etc.?
Check my new clip for my track “into the wind” produced by Saint Surly and taken off my new album “Bleeding Heart Muzik”. Also request “Into The Wind” on Triple J, it would mean a lot to me, thanks heaps for your support, hope you like the clip! Edited by Avene!
