Influences
Our combined influences, amongst other things, are...
The Wild British Land (particularly Dartmoor & the Scottish Highlands); ancient & liminal places; the ocean, the elements & seasons (especially autumn); ragged crows & wildlife in general; ancient shamanic traditions (particularly of Britain & NW Europe); myth and folklore;
As well as the writings of Charles De Lint and the beautiful artwork of talented artists such as Susan Seddon Boulet and our very own CD cover artist, 'Tiana'.
We also find inspiration in ancient musical instruments and a vast & eclectic variety of music including: Folk (particularly Irish), World (particularly W. African), Early & Mediaeval Music as well as Rock Folk-Rock Blues and anything else that takes our fancy!
Specific acts include, in no particular order: Damien Rice, The Ashtray Hearts, Loreena McKennitt, Altan, Lunasa, Deanta, Dervish, The Jayhawks, The Decemberists, Counting Crows, Live, Julian Cope, Celtarabia, Black Crowes, Ed Harcourt and Kelly Joe Phelps amongst many, many others...
Plus any singer/songwriter doing their own thing... ... drop us a line, we'd love to hear from you!

'Dragonfly Moon' is a professional SW based musical duo consisting of Scott Jasper and Susan Garlick who together create a unique blend of earthy, lyric-driven and genre-crossing music.
Scott Jasper is an innovative & versatile professional musician, composer, singer/songwriter, producer & multi-instrumentalist. He has many years experience of playing a variety of instruments, specialising in drums (including kit drums, djembe, frame drum, darabuka, bodhran & cajon), but also playing guitar, banjo, piano, didgeridoo, high & low whistles, North American style wooden flutes and various World percussion. He has performed kit drums in a variety of rock, soul & blues bands over the years and currently writes, records & performs his own unique, highly original and inspirational material both as a solo artist and as part of the duo 'Dragonfly Moon' together with his partner Susan. Scott is also a professional and experienced workshop facilitator, leading highly successful and popular African drumming & singing workshops around the UK.
Susan Garlick is a singer/songwriter & percussionist, including frame drum & djembe, heavily inspired by the wild British lands and their ancient traditions. She is currently studying for an MA in Celtic Studies in addition to working on her own debut solo album 'The Ragged Crows', due for release late spring 2009.
DRAGONFLY MOON currently have three albums available on CD: "Rigantona's Daughters" (released May 2008) "FULL CIRCLE: Songs of Change & Inspiration" (released November 2006) "Tides" (released July 2005) in addition to Scott's two solo projects: "Earth Dreamers" (released May 2004) "Clearwater" (released May 2008). These powerful, evocative albums comprise uplifting lyric driven songs woven with contemporary songwriting, shamanic insight, inner reflection and the spirit of acoustic world instruments, creating an exciting & original blend of earthy, mythic music. Scott also collaborated with Medwyn Goodall in 2005 to create the instrumental "Tribal Nation".

Scott also released his brand new solo project "CLEARWATER", a totally different sound to his usual style but one which has received much praise. Susan's solo album, "The Ragged Crows" is currently being completed in the studio and will be released spring 2009. Dragonfly Moon will be performing a range of their new material at various events around the UK in 2009/2010, in addition to offering more drumming & singing workshops...

The second part of the trilogy "The
Empty
Circle" by The Joy of Nature, entitled «Rastos de Sangue e fragmentos da
Tradição», has been now released by Ahnstern and it is available at The Joy of Nature's store.

Not only a reaction against the modern world, but

Hello Scott and Susan, thank you for adding me to your Myspace circle of friends. I liked your wide variety of song samples. Very upbeat, unique, and original. Nice blend of vocals and also of instruments. Have fun, John
Also I run The Great Edinburgh Run as part of team Finola and did a gig to help send Finola Forman to college as the government in Scotland unlike the rest of the UK wont help disabled people with complex needs when they want to go into further education, check out her site at
