April 2nd , 2008 at 10:10 AM I lost my best friend in the world , if you knew Sheri , you knew that your life had been changed in such a profound way that it would never be the same .
Sheri was a whirling dervish of reddish brown hair , and she possessed such a unique attitude .
I never have and never will meet another person like her in my life .
I met Sheri 3 years ago at the Elgin diner , we waitressed together , when I met her she was just returning to work after having got her brand new boobs ( she was a breast cancer survivor )
Little did I know that cold day in February would be the first day of my new life .
Sheri at the time was getting ready to put on a show for the Christina Zervoudis scholarship fund , her group was known as "The Dragonflies"
Sheri heard me sing one day and said she would love it if I could sing her in show , but since I didn't know Christina she didn't think it would be right .
Well with one singer out of commission a month before the first show I got my chance to sing .
I will always believe it was fate .
Eventually I got a job at the skating rink .
Sheri called me one day and said " Stacy , why don't you just move in with me " so I did and the rest is history .
After awhile we moved to Ohio we had a hard time of it but Sheri never faltered , if there was one thing I knew it's that Sheri had this never ending faith that everything was going to be alright .
Whether we had to walk to the grocery store , or library , or anywhere we did it with a smile , because we knew those babies appreciated every single thing we did for them .
Sheri loved her kids so much , her whole world was about them . I love them too , and I always will .
Sherry , Johnny , Jesse , Corey , Jarrod , Gena , Cassandra , and Ricky I love you like my own children , and I would do anything for you .
I just want to thank Sheri for all the wonderful blessings she gave me including letting me go when I found love 5 hours away from where we lived .
I know that I will be okay because I have an angel looking over my shoulder .
I feel her in my heart , and she is always on my mind .
One day I will see you again Sheri , save a place in heaven for me .
I love you , Rest in Peace
Your best Friend , Stacy

... No more trees. No more Thneeds. No more work to be done.
So, in no time, my uncles and aunts, every one, all waved me good-bye. They jumped into my cars and drove away under the smoke-smuggered stars.
Now all that was left 'neath the bad smelling-sky was my big empty factory... the Lorax... and I.
The Lorax said nothing. Just gave me a glance... just gave me a very sad, sad backward glance... as he lifted himself by the seat of his pants.
And I'll never forget the grim look on his face when he heisted himself and took leave of this place, through a hole in the smog, without leaving a trace.
And all that the Lorax left here in this mess was a small pile of rocks, with one word... "UNLESS. " Whatever that meant, well, I just couldn't guess.
That was long, long ago.
But each day since that day I've sat here and worried and worried away.
Through the years, while my buildings have fallen apart, I've worried about it with all of my heart.
"But now," says the Once-ler, "Now that you're here, the word of the Lorax seems perfectly clear.
UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better.
It's not.
"SO... Catch!" calls the Once-ler.
He lets something fall.
"It's a Truffula Seed.
It's the last one of all! You're in charge of the last of the Truffula Seeds.
And Truffula Trees are what everyone needs.
Plant a new Truffula.Treat it with care.
Give it clean water. And feed it fresh air.
Grow a forest. Protect it from axes that hack.
Then the Lorax and all of his friends may come back." ...
Happy Earth Day ... remember to think green today and everyday! Hugs, Marilyn
