These are really old songs...really. I want to find people to make good music with, music that brings us to a higher level, that activates the heart and stimulates the mind, a simple music from the soul, or intricate finger-picking patterns and rhythmic variation, but organic. I wish to find collaborators, to come out of my isolation. I have been injured for many years and have struggled in this society. I don't understand how people put up with it. Whether explicitly or just implicitly in the heart connection that shines through, I want to participate in and help foster a new cultural renaissance. The capitalists have reduced music to a commodity, and now everyone steals it on their iPods. But is this the creation of a post-capitalist culture? Hardly. The revolution that I want to see is people connecting outside of the established venues, potlucks, living room concerts, face-to-face culture. Talking to each other, sharing, touching, not elevating the banal through harmful technologies such as the cell phone. There was a time when musicians in their 20s created some of the most advanced music. This was the time when the counterculture was in its heyday. Now we are dumbed down. Who bothers to learn how to read music? Very few are those who study composition. I do not wish to sound elitist, but what the masses pursue, create and listen to is so much junk food to my ears and my heart. This world is dying and changing fast. There is no time or place for culture that serves the old world of patriarchal domination of nature.

It was such a culture shock to have my daughter start school and for us stand in one place all year but it's been a massive healing time for everyone and just as well we did stand still considering what has been manifesting!! It may seem so very hard at times but the difficulties are the mirror for the beautiful possibilities inside of us and between us! Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. One time I drove six hours to see Damien Jurado. The crowd was so noisy that he played about five songs and left. I was extremely aggrivated to say the least.
