This is the myspace of DJ DKLA. I began my DJ services in 2001 DJing for private parties and smaller functions such as After-Parties. These included appearances at several of Derby’s venues including Sugaz, Revolution, and The Gatehouse. Through event promoters in Derby, I played at most of the bars in derby in that first year.
I was given a residency at Derby’s most renowned bar Coyote Wild in 2003. The night, named Wildstyle was a great success and after closing in the summer season of 2004, was restarted again due to its high demand on a Saturday night. As well as this I also performed at several Blush comedy shows which featured the like s of Richard Blackwood and Curtis Walker and also made a few appearances in Destiny and Elite nightclub.
In 2005, I became the in-house DJ for BluBambu the only inner-city nightclub in derby. As in house DJ I was responsible for warming up and end of the night music and entertainment. In this time I played alongside many significant DJs including Phats and Small, Jeremy Healy, Alister Whitehead, Radio 1’s Scott Mills as well as housing Miss Moneypenny's and Live PA. nights.
I’ve been at BluBambu till 2007 when I was invited out to play at one of the Balearic Island Superclubs BCM Planet Dance in Magaluf. With a nightly turnover of 4-5000 people it has been my proudest experience yet playing 170 days of the 2007 summer season. Here I was playing the early session in BCM warming up for the likes of DJ Sammy, Judge Jules, Dave Pearce, Sonique, Des Mitchell, Freemasons on Dance nights and Fatman Scoop, Westwood, MistaJam and PA.s such as Kano, and Sway. I also played the late set during the foam /water parties in down stairs room Millennium
After the season was over I have been invited back to be a resident from 2008.
