Drastic Plastic began and still exists as a record store in Omaha, Nebraska, which now has begun to press vinyl in order to re-solidify the ever-expanding canon of late-20th/early-21st-century popular music and adapt to what has clearly become the inconstant world of independent music retail. A recent Associated Press article states: “In 2008, more vinyl albums were purchased (1.88 million) than any other year since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991. More than two of every three vinyl albums were purchased at an independent music store during the year.” Drastic opened in 1982 and has been selling punk/alternative/indie records to Omahans since, and has been making and selling t-shirts internationally through its sister company, Impact Merchandising, for 15 years. Because of our collective experience and continued focus on what’s essential art it seems a natural…indeed a necessary…progression to publish essential, out-of-print masterpieces on vinyl for the people who want and need them. Drastic Plastic is helmed by Neil Azevedo (General Manger, A&R) and Mike Howard (CEO, Impact Merchandising).

"Rock music is mostly about moving big black boxes from one side of town to the other in the back of your car." - Pere Ubu
"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side." - Hunter S. Thomson
