Draw From The Effect is a powerful combination of the energy of four very talented young men who are dedicated to the music that they love to perform to entertain a crowd in a variety of venues. They have played many different types of venues from the bar scene in big cities, including The Whisky A Go-Go, and small towns, to all ages venues in churches, outdoor rock festivals, and at their alma-mater, Las Plumas High School in Oroville, as well as the occasional private party. All four members of Draw From The Effect also live and work in their home town of Oroville.
The guitarist, Eric Hudson, and the drummer, Corey Duren, had been in a band together throughout their high school years (2001-2004) called Diligent. The creative drive that they had in this young band was brought to Draw From The Effect and a new era began. After trying a few different fits for a lead vocalist, they settled on the magic that Ryan Bowen has added to this band. Throughout this process, Corey Duren was originally vocalist, then bassist, then finally in his position behind the drum kit. Though, the band performs a song live, Disguising Pain, in which Eric and Corey switch instruments halfway through the song to the astonishment of the audience.
Their bassist, Dwain Whitmire, was the last puzzle piece to this four piece rock/metal/nu-metal band. He had briefly played with them while Corey was the vocalist and was unavailable right away when they started back up after switching drummers. Dwain has brought his strong bass style to Draw From The Effect along with his sense of getting the audience involved with their performance and can often be found wandering wireless among their audience.
With these four members firmly in place, Draw From The Effect began gigging in May 2008 and have played over 100 shows to date. They won their first round of their first Battle Of The Bands competition, The Battle For Independence, and made it all the way to the final round with four other, much more seasoned bands. Excellent considering that they had only been performing live for less than two months when they took the first round.
Now after singing with CFM Records in September of 2009, Draw From The Effect is poised for the next level of the industry. After putting the final touches on their second studio album they will be submitting to several major & “indie” radio stations all across the nation. There are also plans for touring the entire West Coast in the very near future. We hope to see you at your local music venue very soon, and we all look forward to meeting all of you.
