General
drawing, drinking coffee and tea, printmaking, painting, and playing with my dogs- i think that about covers it. i love to read and create work... i adore art. art history. books. galleries. museums, parks, silver, stars, coffee, solstices, dogs, kinesics, shoes, red, buttons, rosebuds, irish breakfast tea, imps, celtic knots, paper, peridot, magnolias, faeries, wild violets, tides, wind, occulesics, stones, ribbon, 8, bones, earl grey, angel food cake, leaves, keys, trunks, turquoise, torsos, etc, etc.
Music
i have a certifiable addiction to ani difranco... mostly, listen to female vocalists though a few recent additions have included men. aside from ms. difranco, favorites include: etta james, billy holiday, john lee hooker, ben harper, tori amos, tom waits, melissa ferrick, andrew bird, kristen diable, jolie holland, jen foster, aimee mann, jonatha brooke, patty griffin, james hunter, ray charles, frank sinatra, tracy chapman, lucinda williams, social distortion, carol king, james taylor, gabriel james, black gold, modest mouse, garrison starr, deathcab for cutie, ryan adams, janis joplin, indigo girls, rolling stones, amy winehouse, etc, etc.
Movies
i'm weird about movies. some of my favorite movies are truly lame but others are poignant, influential, beautiful films: life is beautiful, revolver, amelie, sweeney todd, hamlet (the k.b. version and the ethan hawk...), fur, layer cake, lord of the rings, braveheart, mirrormask, factory girl, the golden compass, the hours, white oleander, pretty in pink, stardust, donnie darko, the red violin, hero, disney, girl with a pearl earring, one flew over the cuckoo's nest, the notebook, the truth about charlie, charade, sabrina (the audrey hephurn version), any audrey movie actually, magnolia, high fidelity, arsenic and old lace, run lola run.. and so on and so forth....
Television
deadwood, heroes, csi, law and order, six feet under, house, the lost, dead like me, carnival, 24, the history channel, cartoon network...
Books
my taste in books is much like my taste in movies, rather eclectic... john irving, neil gaiman, ray bradbury, tom robbins, zora neil hurston, ayn rand, phillip pullman, alice randall, stephen chobosky's the perks of being a wallflower, michael cunningham, gregory maguire, kurt vonnegut, j.k. rowling, terry pratchett lord byron, e e cummings, sylvia plath, and many many more...
Heroes
so what does it mean if most of your heroes are dead or no one has heard of them- or both? also, does it change things when i say that barbara kruger's "we don't need another hero" images are some of my favorites of her work? my heroes are women artists, both contemporary and of the past who have fought to establish their place in the racist, sexist art world. women who were true to themselves though others rallied against them- those are my heroes.

right now it's just a tumblr blog, but I have some design work complete and an old web teacher of mine is sending me some older adobe web programs (dreamweaver, flash etc) so I'll actually be able to get some stuff up. If you'd like to see some of the work that I've completed (to spur you on or whatever) just let me know.
That's lovely to hear. Now I would like to pose a question: I have only ever had one personal show, the one at Overton, which was of course, not intended to make me any money or even really advertise my work; however, lately I am becoming more active with my art again as I'm starting to see what I want for my future, and one thing I don't know anything about is galleries. This is clearly a terrible problem for an artist, and since you have worked in galleries and have hosted several of your own shows, I would be very interested to hear what you have to say on the subject ms. teacher. :)

Yes, I have been working like a maniac. 50 hrs this past week and I find out about a possible promotion tomorrow. Other than that I'm working part time on an upcoming jet ski business and my own artistic endeavors. I am currently working on a website actually. I'll let you know how it goes, its still in the works.
How is the world treating you these days?
