Day dreaming and Doodling......alot. (when I'm not designing fabrics and wallpapers)
Music
Loads of stuff hailing from my Northern roots, such as New Order, Joy Division, Stone Roses, the lovely Ian Brown. A bit of folk, and nice guitar skills from Nick Drake. You can't beat a bit of The Cure and The Jam every now and then either, Joni Mitchel, Arthur Lee and Love, Neil Young, Dusty Springfield, Rolling Stones, Jeff Buckley, Johnny Cash, The Specials, The Clash, Roots Manuva....To the best underground London sounds from the likes of the Wiggle lot, Richard Grey, Nathan Coles, Asad Rizvi, everyone down at Swag Records, and of course James Thomson.
Movies
Having previously worked in the Film Industry for several years I still have a small obsession with good films, and cool directors.... Mike Leigh, Ken Loach, Shane Meadows. Classics like Kes, Room For Romeo Brass, Rita Sue and Bob Too, Naked Lunch, Dog Day Afternoon, Rumble Fish, Donnie Darko to name a few...But still enjoy easy watching non brain taxing fims also, like The Big Lebowski, Napoleon Dynamite, The Breakfast Club, The Sure Thing etc....and golden oldies like Whistle Down The Wind and Its A Wonderful Life.
Television
American neverending series like...Lost...CSI....24...you get the picture also anything involving Sir David Attenborough Planet Earth, Blue Planet....and I have to watch a bit of Corination Street to keep me up to date withe life in the North.
Books
have shelves full of them! books are my exspensive vice....
About me: After growing up in the small Northern village of Hebden Bridge I felt it was time to pursue my dreams, so I ran away to the bright lights of London Town (well Lewisham) where I sneaked my way into the Film Industry. I was fortunate enough to work on some great films & tv productions, doing: illustrations, graphics, making props, set dressing and the like..Credits include Vera Drake (directed by Mike Leigh), Delovely -MGM, Nicholas Nickleby - MGM, The Little Prince - BBC, As If - Channel 4, Murder in Mind - BBC, Foyles War - Greenlit Productions, The Dark, SW9 - Fruit Salad Films to name a few.
After several years of doing this I decided I wanted to go it alone and specalise my services (Ooh er!) Which is why I went back to college to study surface design. My influences are pretty wide and varied and can come from any source.
