DRBE is an eclectic mix of bluegrass, folk, rock, blues and a touch of jazz originating from Millersville, Pennsylvania where the three members met as friends. As many party goers know, a party is usually more fun with some live music. All three played music at least recreationally, and were often called upon to entertain at parties. Eventually, Dan Cook, Dave Abramson and Dave Brey decided to pool their musical talents and see if something would germinate. During the fall of 2002 the three friends would congregate on Tuesday evenings for a little jam session. Immediately, the three clicked, and the standard format for the DRBE lineup was solidified: Dan on Banjo, Dave A. on mandolin, and Dave B. on guitar. As the group continued to play together, they were asked more frequently to pick up their instruments and play a few tunes to get the party started. A love for music and fun, a desire to create and entertain, and a realization that a lot of people really enjoy a beverage and a band spurred DRBE to take their show out of the living rooms and straight to the masses. They bring the party with them wherever they go, and DRBE would love to bring their party to your establishment.
Dan Cook Dan graduated from Millersville with an art education degree and currently teaches at a High School in Lancaster County. Dan lives in Ephrata, PA with his wife Kristin and their dog Jasper. Dan enjoys creating in many different ways. He is an accomplished painter, and has explored many mediums and ideas in pursuit of his creative spirit. A talented musician and songwriter, Dan is the original banjoist for DRBE. However, he also provides lead and background vocals, guitar, bass guitar, harmonica, fiddle and mandolin expertise to the band's sound.
Dave Abramson
Dave A. earned a BA in Music with a Music Industry Studies/Classical Guitar concentration from Millersville University. After living on the road and working on a sound crew for some time, Dave decided to go back to school. He got his second Bachelor’s degree at DeVry University in Computer Engineering Technology, and now works as a Software Engineer. He currently lives in Horsham, PA with his instruments and books. When not playing with DRBE, Dave enjoys acting in the local theatre group and spending time with friends. Dave A is the original mandolin player for DRBE but also adds his talent on vocals, background vocals, guitar, bass and sound board..
Dave Brey
Dave B. attended Millersville for three years and is currently in the insurance field. Dave enjoys playing music with his brothers and other musicians, as well as dabbling in many creative fields, including writing and art. Dave lives in Lansdale, PA with his wife Lesley. Dave is the founding guitar player of DRBE, but also provides vocals, background vocals, bass guitar, and harmonica talents to the group.
