DRB began during an April Fool's Day snowstorm in Providence, RI, 1997. After recording an EP (Four Songs) and compiling some live practice tapes (Let It DRB), the band members (Mason Lee, Mike O'Malley, and David Ricardo) all relocated to different cities.
Mason and David reunited in Berkeley, CA in 1999. They spent years playing only for themselves, improvising with friends for hours on end.
In 2003, Mason and David teamed up with Jim Hufford and Kevin Crouse to stage a one-time live performance of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, in its entirety. Later that year, David and Mason helped Jim record a couple of great original songs, but Jim soon moved away to Alabama.
In 2004, David and Mason met drummer Zack Eichert, and recorded a couple of new original DRB songs. Zack moved away to study teaching after just a few months with the band.
In December 2005, Yogi Hendlin got on the drums, and in February 2006, Matt Weber joined ..s. The band played for a couple of years in that formation, until Yogi left for grad school in LA.
DRB is currently on an indefinite hiatus.
