The airy, baroque British pop trio dubbed the Dream Academy emerged in the mid-'80s as one of the leading lights of the psychedelic revival movement.
The group was led by vocalist/guitarist Nick Laird-Clowes, a former member of the short-lived Act; also comprised of multi-instumentalist Kate St. John (an alumna of the Ravishing Beauties) and keyboardist Gilbert Gabriel, the Dream Academy issued their eponymously titled debut LP in 1985. Co-produced by David Gilmour, the atmospheric lead single "Life in a Northern Town," an elegy for Nick Drake, quickly reached the Top 20 of the U.K. charts; issued in the U.S. the following year, it became a Top Ten hit.
The trio's follow-up single, "The Love Parade," failed to repeat the success of its predecessor, however, and the Dream Academy's commercial momentum stalled. After 1987's Rememberance Days quickly dropped from sight, the group went into seclusion; when their 1991 comeback A Different Kind of Weather failed to restore their chart luster, the Dream Academy promptly disbanded.
In subsequent years, St. John was the trio's most visible graduate; in addition to touring with Van Morrison, she teamed with Roger Eno, Bill Nelson and others in the group Channel Light Vessel, and in 1996 issued her solo debut Indescribable Night. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

Hello and hope all is well! I've created massage music for the mind using orchestrated melodic tones. I call it, "Warm Migration". http://warmmigration. com Hope you enjoy!
Due to space litigation that has unfortunately done things to us of which we are not allowed to speak. I am forced to send you this note with no useful information. Our mind control (another thing that I am technically not supposed to be mentioning, not due to legalities, but due to your fragile frightened minds -- which we will soon totally own) project is running into even more difficulty than we were prepared for. We went into this with a “what doesn’t kill them makes them stronger” philosophy. Now, humbled greatly in our quest for "musical" success, we are taking a “whatever you do, try not to kill our potential fan base” tack. I know that I shouldn’t have told you any of this, but this gag order is really driving me insane lately. And don’t worry, the stuff that I can’t *legally* tell you is much more frightening than localized accidental fan-base genocide.
Thanks for your interest in our noise and mind control projects! Looking forward to your drone phase!
I hope you are creating a PHENOMENAL year that brings you many rewarding experiences, lasting connection and time spent with those who appreciate you most!
Expect 2008 to drop a multitude of lucky surprises into your lap...

A few days ago we posted a “Sattelite Bay”-song and the very first press-reactions on our profile. Check it out! We’re curious about your reaction! Thanks for watching! Thanks for listening! Long Distance Calling (Reimut)
Life in a northern town forever changed the musical landscape of the times. Much like "Smells like teen spirit" or "God save the queen". I am forever grateful. Peace.
I think you would enjoy reading my one and only blog. It's one of those things if you never read anything else EVER, you know all you had to know from reading just this one, yep it's that good. I might add, it has almost nothing to do with me, yet it has everything to do with all of us. Amazing!
