Based on Dennis Potter's film, Dreamchild: The True Story of Alice in Wonderland
80 year old Alice Hargreaves (who as a child was Lewis Carroll's inspiration for the Wonderland tale) comes to America for the first time in 1932 on an invitation to celebrate the 100th Birthday of the Reverend Charles Dodgson (Lewis Carroll) and earn an honorary degree from Columbia University. As she arrives she is quickly bombarded by paparazzi who constantly refer to her as "the REAL Alice". As the publicity increases, she becomes haunted by the memories of her childhood she has long suppressed and must come to terms with her questionable relationship she had with Lewis Carroll and his Wonderland.
