I'm not a big fan of music. Please don't try to make me like what you like. Many friends have faced the brick wall that is getting me to enjoy music, and have failed. By myself I'm suprisingly private about my music. I tend to lean towards slower, more meaningful music (read- weepy whiny shizzit). I really like Radiohead, Coldplay, and Matthew Good. Don't get too excited about me on music. I think I own a total of like... ten cd's.Фильмы
Movies have become a great obsession for me lately. I greatly prefer grouchy manly movies with little dialog aside from growling and hitting of things. Some of my favorite movies are Conan the Barbarian, Jurassic Park (my first geeky love), V for Vendetta, and the Chronicles of Riddick (Mmmmm Vin Diesel!). I also like pretty much anything animated, anything funny, and kung fu movies. And more thoughtful movies are high up on my list. What Dreams May Come, Pleasantville, and American Beauty are some more favorites of mine. The movie I have seen the most times in the shortest period of time is Ran. I can't watch horror movies, which means anything with a lot of gore in it. I can't handle it. I'll have nightmares for months, because I am a weenie. However, I am in love with anything M. Night Shyamalan and other movies that run in the More Creepy And Unnerving Than Terrifying vein. The Village got me into Whoah Mode. I love that kind of thing. I like to call this, Horror Lite. Unless it has gore in it, it's pretty easy to get me to watch most movies. Even if I dislike it I enjoy the relaxing act of watching a movie. Me, Netflix and Redbox are real close friends.ТВ
Discovery Channel is almost always on in the background. That or Comedy Central for Reno 911, Southpark, and any Stand Up Comedy, or Cartoon Network for Futurama and the Adult Swim. I'm a sucker for Clean House and for some ungodly reason Extreme Makeover.Книги
I love reading. I read constantly. I am always, always working on a new book. Some of my favorites are The Unlikely Ones, The Iron Dragon's Daughter, The Lord Of The Rings, Beouwulf, Gilgamesh, and Oedipus Rex. Some of my favorite authors are Michael Swanwick (best science fiction author EVER), Diane Gabaldon, David Wong, Chuck Palahniuk, Joyce Carol Oates, and Orson Scott Card. I also love asian poetry and literature, and Ezra Pound remains my all time favorite poet/translater. I'm always scrounging the bargain bin at Borders and the Book Outlet stores. I've found some of my favorites this way. The book that I would ask anyone to read if they wanted to understand me is Dogs of Babel by Caroline Parkhust.Кумиры
Jet Li, Jane Goodall, those cops on Animal Heroes on Animal Planet, Jeff Corwin, Stephen Colbert, Anyone who works in Animal Rescue, Anyone who works in a hospital or other emergency health care facility, Anyone who does something hard to benefit others, and of course My Mom. Because seriously, you have no idea what a badass my Mom is.
