I love music... I grew up around it because my father used to own a chain of record stores in Houston Texas for a long time so I was able to get a lot of free stuff... I love it all from Prince to everyone he inspired and/or produced. I love D'Angelo, Maxwell, Lauryn Hill, all the old school artists from the 70's and 80's, westcoast artists.. Ice Cube, NWA, Dr. Dre, The Game, Above The Law, King Tee, DJ Quik, Yo-Yo, WC, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, and the list goes on and on... I like Korn, Alice & Chains, and on and on... Jay Z, Nas, Paul Wall, Youngbloodz, OUTKAST, Joi, Goodie Mob, Slim thug, Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, Angie Stone, Common, The Roots, Mos Def, Erykah Badu, Anthony Hamilton, Bilal, Jill Scott, Lenny Kravitz, Kanye West, Notorious BIG, Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, and all the old skool Hip Hop...KRS-One, Public Enemy, Eric B. & Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, etc etc.... So much music... so many great memories... And from my father I learned to appreciate the blues and that's a whole nother list..

Love Jones, The Wood, The Nephew, Eve's Bayou, The Jane Pittman Story, The Best Man, Love & Basketball, Menace II Society, Dead Presidents, Training Day, Crash, A Man Called Adam, The Inkwell, Aaron Loves Angela, and the list goes on and on as I hunger for black films. Maybe one day one of my own stories will become one of those great black films..

I've written a few of my own.. Daughter By Spirit, Everybody Got Issues and two upcoming novels in 2006 called My Life Is All I Have(March 06) and Until Again(Fall 06). Have also contributed to a few anthologies, Sistergirls.com, Chocolate Flava, Love Is Never Painless, and Truth Be Told. I feel blessed because of these literary gifts and I look forward to the inspiration of life which allows me to create more...
On another note, my most favorite reads include A Woman's Worth by Tracy Price-Thompson, Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah, Warmest December by Bernice McFadden, Redemption Song by Bertice Berry, Married But Looking by Travis Hunter, and the list goes on and on...

Hey Sweet Anthony! i'm back in Kuwait but i had an absolute blast in Egypt...swam and danced with the dolphins, parasailed, went on a sunset quad (four wheeler) ride into the desert, swam in the Red Sea, laughed, rested, flirted, hung out with the Bedouin camps and just enoyed myself. It will become my quick getaway spot. But I've got to make time for Cairo next time but it is just not a place a woman should go alone! Thanks for sharing your mother's beautiful memories with us. I'm glad I was able to meet her beautiful spirit and see where her son got it from.
