About me:
Dress up is a clothing label designed by Stephanie Downey. The clothes she makes are about pretending. In 'dressing up', countless images learned and copied are compiled to create something personal and unique. Through each collection by Dress Up a story is told - memories of people and places are translated, sensitive to human emotion and our relationship with clothing. The excitement and pride of assembling the perfect outfit is nurtured yet gently teased. Dress up is a self-conscious attempt at ladylike - an ode to vanity and the private aspiration of appearing fashionable.
