‘DRAG’ are a highly committed and dedicated band from Birmingham. Since they have been together ‘DRAG’ have personally funded all recording and promotion for the band to date.
The band work successfully together, the four individuals operate incredibly well as a band, in turn this reinforces the power and enthusiasm that is evident within the music and the live show. Additionally, the security of each of the members ensures that the music and expression is tightly confined to a specific style.
‘DRAG’ are a four piece band, fronted by three females with a male drummer. ‘DRAG’ do not necessarily flaunt their sexuality but it is something that is apparent both via their stage presence and through their lyrics.
The band currently define their music as ‘Sleazy Punk’. This combines elements of several genre of music. The energy and spontaneity of the classic 70’s Punk, the distinct guitar riffs of rock and, the blatant in your face attitude of sleazy Drag Queen bar performances are all evident in ‘DRAG’.
‘DRAG’ are an energetic, sleazy punk band with outrageous songs and a live show to match. They address themes most other bands would be afraid to – such as eating disorders, gender issues and self harm without apology. Their stage show oozes sexual prowess and is as compelling as it is defiant.
DRAG are:
Heather - Vocals & Guitar
Velma - Guitar
Charlie - Bass
Matt - Drums
