Thanks to everyone who packed it in Monday night at The Belcourt Theatre!

Raygan and Drew explain to the crowd that they have been duped. This is not, in fact, a Taylor Hicks concert. Half of the audience grumbles and leaves.

Nathan Whitehead (the Composer), Raygan and Drew stand where a red carpet might have been, had there been one.

"The Gospel According to Marquee" is a short film from

Tom and Curtis Adventures

This dynamic production team is headed by Raygan Henley and Drew Talbert.

The film is inspired by and seeks to poke fun at those church marquee signs we've all seen on the side of the road proclaiming their messages in the form of word plays, rhymes and witticisms. Example: "God Answers Knee-mail."

Got it? Good. Now, what if there were two preachers who get involved in a little marquee message rivalry? And what if it got a little out of hand? How far will one preacher go to eliminate the competition and stand alone as the marquee messenger of Worly Creek?

Find out at your local film festival, or stay tuned for the future availability of the film.

If you missed the recent premiere at The Belcourt in Nashville, TN, shame on you. On the other hand, you would have had nowhere to sit, as the theater was at capacity, and there were even Marquee fans standing in the back and sitting in the aisles. Somebody must have told all those people it was a Taylor Hicks concert.

Thanks again to Mark Cowart for allowing us to screen his film,

"Once Upon a Time" 5 min. - An old woman reminisces about finding a lost love. Dir. Mark Cowart, DP Raygan Henley, Music by Michael W. Smith

Everyone was also treated to Raygan's directorial debut and award-winning short,

"Flypaper" 9 min. - A writer trapped with writer's block is bedeviled by a pesky house-fly. Won Best Editing, Action On Film Festival Long Beach 2005. Nominated for Best Short Film, Hollywood Film Awards 2004. Dir. Raygan Henley, Actor Heath Henley

Man, sadness. I'm gonna be out of town for the premiere. Didn't catch you last night at 12th&P. I somehow managed to win (the judging, not the guitar) so I'm off to atlanta for the next round. Are you gonna sell dvds? Have another showing? Please?

Dude! This kewl!

Go Nashville film!

Thanks for supporting us fools trying to make music without corporate sponsorship (unless you know a corporate sponsor who will give us $$$) :}}

...check out the write-up we got in Louisville ... We did not write this song specifically about W, it was written over 15 years ago!

Thought you'd get a kick out of this:

The Nashville duo Betty Dylan may just be on to something, a way to save alternative country from itself by politicizing it in a way hinted at by Steve Earle and a few others: Hippies and Rednecks Unite! The husband and wife team of Dan and Vickie Dubelman, New Jersey natives who live in Nashville and tour sporadically, play Uncle Ps Friday behind their startling new disc, Abdicate the Throne. The pair kick the recording off with The Star Spangled Banner and proceed to bracket the title track (a blunt and blatant call for impeachment of the boss) and nine other originals with a snarling closing cover of that other Dylans Masters of War. No less a personage than the eminent veteran New York DJ Vin Scelsa heralded the band on a recent Air America broadcast.
The group is a dark and shambling throwback to the Crazy Horse of the early 70s (among other groups), and as an added plus they feature Lexington-based drummer Tim Welch, one of the best groove-oriented rock drummers in the Midwest. They proudly note that theyve been banned from ever again playing at Nashvilles storied and oh-so-correct singer-songwriter hellhole, the Bluebird. That is its own high praise. Paul Kopasz the Leo Weekly

Yeah, I'm pretty sure your comment wasn't so much about my birthday or Dawson--it was an opportunity to post an ad for your film on my page...

Actually, I am quite excited about your premiere--congratulations! It'd be really great if you could arrange for Dawson's band to do a pre-show show--that way I could support two artistic friends in one trip...
