Raised on the music of the Beatles, the Who, James Taylor, and Paul Simon, he was profoundly influenced by his incredibly musical family. Dad played the drums and Mom taught music, but Drew’s musical future was undoubtedly set on a fateful day at the tender age of 8, when he stumbled across his father’s vintage Bonham drum set, long forgotten in the Gasparini attic. After the the drums, followed the bass guitar, piano, and finally guitar. ....When he was eleven, Drew had his stage debut as part of the ensemble of Fiddler on the Roof, rising to local stardom in the acclaimed role of Man 1. He had one show-stopping line: “It was a horse.” That same year, Drew also attempted to assert his masculinity, and joined the football team. He lasted one season, conceded that he was in fact a lover (not a fighter), and ran back into the familiar, comforting arms of music, never to leave. ....Through high school, Drew channeled his influences of Nick Toons, the Muppets, Dave Matthews Band, and nursery rhymes into choir, musical theatre, and of course a smattering of garage bands. Even though Drew, like many teen boys, figured at an early age that he could use his musical talent to attract the attention of the opposite sex, he actually wrote his first song at 14 as a Mother’s day gift. (Pause for awwws/groans) After high school, and a short and ill fated stint as an employee of Old Navy, Drew began his professional music career at 18. As it turns out, hiding with a a broken walkie-talkie in the dressing rooms doesn’t suit his professional aspirations nearly as well as recording and performing his music. ....While Drew attended the Musician’s Institute of Los Angeles, majoring in vocal technique and musicianship, he established a California fan-base and began touring locally, sharing the stage with such artists as Jason Mraz, Third Eye Blind, and the Plain White T’s. While on tour he promoted his first EP “Small Thoughts”. As he began touring nationally, gaining popularity with college radio stations, he continued to develop as an artist, planning the release of his album “Overboard” (2008). ....Never to be one left unchallenged, Drew made the leap from the West coast to the East Coast in the fall of 2008, moving to New York City. Objective: World Domination ...or something like that. While adjusting to the new surroundings, Drew uses his time wisely, writing his second musical, “Circles” (following his first musicl, “Crazy, Just Like Me”), and staying on top of the NYC music scene. You never know where Drew’s path is going to lead him.
