Drew Hayward

Bio:

I began performing my songs at open mics and coffee houses in the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area in 2002. Before moving to Iowa, I played guitar in the rock band, Agnes Mabel Becky, based in Ithaca, NY. My love for music comes from my father, John Hayward, who played bass in several bands in the Ithaca area, including The Correctone Stringband and The Horse Flies.

I write songs because I can’t not write them. Some of my heroes and influences include Bob Dylan, Jeff Tweedy, Kurt Cobain, Richie Stearns, and too many more to name. I was blessed to grow up in the fertile musical environment of the Finger Lakes region in Central New York.

My first studio recording, "Mexed Missages," was released in 2005 and contains 11 original songs recorded primarily at Studio Point Digital Recording Studio in Iowa City under the production of Mircea (March) Tomus. My newest CD, "Happy Nada", was completed in 2009. Both CD's are available at CDBaby.com and on iTunes.
