A proud Northern lass, Drew Pilgram began her career recording other artists in a back street Manchester studio before writing and producing her own award winning debut album, Magnetic Sideways Pull. The recognition is a true achievement considering Pilgram performed all instrumentation on the album and recorded it in her own modest home studio. August 2008 saw the release of the beautifully intimate single, Take My Hand, a song that, affecting in it's simplicity, confirms that this artist is no one-album-wonder.
Not one to sit quietly in her genre box, Pilgram continues to work with hip-hop soul producer Rob Mac (Scratch, Jumbonics, Gum Drop), writing for new projects and providing lead vocals with Mac's folk-soul band, Speeka.
Since MSP's release in 2007, Pilgram has earned a reputation as a classic songwriter in the subject of 'life' and continues to explore creativity, music and herself, as only a real artist can.
"Drew has delivered one of the best debut albums I've heard for a very long time. Beautifully written, produced and with a gorgeous heart-felt vocal delivery; it'll probably be the most accomplished album you'll hear all year. Stunning." Ben Mynott / Fluid Nation / Big Chill
"From start to finish, every track is beautiful, thought provoking and evokes emotion" Independent Clauses Magazine
“…it isn't the life an artist has led that matters, it's the artistry with which she writes about that life that makes her songs interesting, and gives them the power to move people… An album that feels strongly, aches quietly, and smiles sweetly.” Laurence Phelan
"She’s got soul, she writes incredible songs and her backing band is anything but typical. Listen to the lyrics and listen to the harmonies. And listen a second time. You may have missed something." Radio Mike/ Fevered Brain Radio Network
Not too late to get advance tickets for my shows coming up - including two tickets for £5 for my Birmingham gig (3 Nov). And remember I'm playing with Ebb at the ICA in London (9 Nov) - this is a very special performance and it would be great to see you there. /MaJiKer

May God bless and keep you always, May your wishes all come true, May you always do for others And let others do for you. May you build a ladder to the stars And climb on every rung, May you stay forever young, Forever young, forever young, May you stay forever young.
May you grow up to be righteous, May you grow up to be true, May you always know the truth And see the lights surrounding you. May you always be courageous, Stand upright and be strong, May you stay forever young, Forever young, forever young, May you stay forever young.
May your hands always be busy, May your feet always be swift, May you have a strong foundation When the winds of changes shift. May your heart always be joyful, May your song always be sung, May you stay forever young, Forever young, forever young, May you stay forever young.
I have a new short story on my page: ‘Making A Killing’, which could be described as an ‘art thriller.’ It looks at the values that different people place upon different types of art and approaches the subject with equal measures of comedy and suspense. Ultimately it’s something of a riot and a joke with no morals or opinions of its own.
It’s a departure from previous stories that have explored more metaphysical notions – although ‘Buddha’ does have a cameo role.
Hey, nice to see you, and thanks for accepting my friend request! Any plans for going north to make a concert in Sweden soon?!? I think you're great! Matilda
