Sounds Like
People have mentioned that some of my songs sound a little like Blues Traveler, Barenaked Ladies, Mark knopfler or Dire Straits, and Tom Petty. One guy even said I sounded like Chris Isaak - don't know about that. Post a comment and let me know what you think!
Well, this is a bio... So let's see, I've been writing songs for a long time, playing most of the instruments myself when I record. I started out on drums when I was about 9 or so. Then my parents started me on piano lessons, then guitar. I guess the banging and blaring from the basement became a little too much because they made me choose between guitar or drums. I chose the guitar and it's been my main instrument ever since.
Throughout the 90's I performed in a duo with longtime bandmate John Frawley. We played at many north Jersey bars and pubs. Together we arranged the song Far Away which appeared on a CD compilation of local north Jersey bands called "Local Color." You can hear a remastered version of that song on my CD "No More Waiting."
During that time, and since then, I've been writing and recording music in various forms of home studio. My latest studio is the best I've had. Plenty of room, quiet. I've gathered more gear too, and now I record digitally. In 2006 I picked up a nice little vintage Slingerland drum kit, and I will be using them for the next CD, which I am still arranging music for.
I've also been working on some instrumental pieces that I plan on compiling and releasing at some point. Stay tuned.
When I click on the link for your video, your profile says you are 103 years old. All I can say is WOW! If I live to be that old, I hope I look as young as you do. What is your secret?
OK...so let's never let your wife drive again until we do a full head count! I had a great time with you guys as always. We must do it again sometime. Come on over the Marques from time to time. They like company too! See ya soon. :-)
Hope you are doing better...didn't mean to get you trashed Friday night. I know that last beer put you a bit over. I just couldn't drink alone! Thanks for being my dance partner while your wife was away! You, me and Megs are a great team! Let's do it again soon! Call if you need anything... :)
Had a great time again Friday night. The hot tub was the best part. I believe the Vic's need to get one at their home and I'll pay my way with alcohol. JK. Thanks for being the best dance partner ever. Love ya.
