Influences
Alcohol, drugs, horror, love, loss, books, cinema. People I've known, people who have known me, extreme emotions good or bad, and everything in between the sea and the sky that holds some fragment of beauty.

Sounds Like
dark, twisted, sweet, somber, angry, joyful, wicked, sorrowful, independent music played on the instruments of a starving artist bent on the domination of the airwaves across the globe. I've been notably compared to David Bowie, Peter Murphy, Elliot Smith, Robert Smith and several others...though I don't particularly agree with any of those comparisons. I personally think I sound like Drew Wylie...I may be wrong.
Drew Wylie (dru-y-lee) n. - 1. Individual bred for use in the performing arts 2. Writer of dark and often romantic music 3. Paranoid insomniac with a love of horror novels and surrealist oil paintings. Syn: singer/songwriter, music fanatic, performer, artist.
This is the official myspace/website of the artist known as Drew Wylie (aka: Andy Wylie of Church For Sinners) You want info on the dirty folk demon of the North West? This is the place to find it. This site is run exclusively by D.W. himself...myself...ourselves??? I will update fairly regularly and eventually post some new and unusual tracks for you to sample, savor, and maybe even download. Hell, maybe if you wander through here often enough, you might catch the next big Church For Sinners sing along in it's earliest acoustical form!
I am kicking around the idea...in my head...of self-releasing the first two Drew Wylie albums (2004's "The Mourning After" and 2005's "DEMOnS") in mp3 download form, right here on this very site. So, keep your eyes peeled (and out of direct sunlight) for that quite possible eventuality in the not-too-distant future.
For now, check out the songs I have available in the player you see so elegantly placed atop this pseudo-autobiographical rant, look at the pretty pretty pictures in the top left corner, and come out to the shows listed above my bloggity blah area. Well wishes and rum drenched nights to you all, my loveliest of lovelies.
things are good, been really busy as well, but good anyway:) love the pic, manic panic huh? are they using the images? where are ya gonna be in portland on the 25th?
Hi hunn!! how have you been doing? see the bulletins for shows all the time, sad i haven't been able to make it to one! love your default pic by the way!!!!!!!!!
Hahaha... wow, sounds like quite a time. Chris wouldn't have been involved by chance, I can picture the broken bottles and spooky factories.... however, the gay bar might require some explination. Yeah, Thursdays and Monday nights at the rink are pretty chaotic on the ice at times... its when all the younger kids come and skate, and they really like playing tag. I am glad you enjoyed.
Sorry I didn't get to hang or talk to you guys too much the other night, duty called. By the time I got off the ice I was so exhausted, did you guys end up making it up to B-Ham? Well... hope you enjoyed ice skating! I know how fun going around in circles over and over can be! Hahaha. But good to see you.
Nice! I just recorded my first song, although my recording equipment isn't that great, but it's a good start, I think. I've got a friend I may be starting a band with, so that's pretty exciting. You should check it out. it's www.myspace.com/missacoker
I might be taking a road trip sometime soon. Maybe I can go see you guys!
So tomorrow, if you get this in time, I'm gonna run to Marysville early, 'cause it'll be like 8 in the morning, unless you want to tag along :], then after I'll come and pick you up and take you down to place-zilla. Okayyyyyy?
