Bio
Dre Yung began his quest at becoming a true emcee at the age of 16, freestyling in high school lunch rooms, clubs, bus stops and anywhere else he could draw a crowd to get his name known. By the age of 18, he started taking the rap game more seriously by writing his bars down on paper and turning them into songs more than just using them to freestyle with. Soon after he began writing songs he would then start recording in Da Shed studios with Dee Ess (Da Midwest Beatknocker) which lead him to record his first and most infamous song Moan & Sweat. The song Moan & Sweat landed him a local buzz in Madison, WI which boosted his ego and enabled him to perform in clubs, schools, and city functions. By February 2005 Dre Yung submitted his song to the Sony BMG/Sony Ericsson Hip Hop Supa Star competition. This was a nationwide competition consisting of thousands of entries, but only 10 were selected to compete and perform live on stage with Xzibit. Dre Yung was selected one of ten contestants which granted him a ring-tone for Moan & Sweat, and placed him in a national voting competition. The competition allowed him to open up a live show for rap artist such as Ras Kass, Strong Arm Steady and Xzibit at the House of Blues in Chicago, Illinois. Although Dre Yung fail short of winning the competition, it did not stop him from getting his grind on none what so ever. Since than Dre Yung decided it was best for him to move from Madison, WI to Lithonia, GA to better his music career. Now since he moved down to the south, Dre Yung has gotten even hungrier than he ever was for the music business. He promotes his cd's out the trunk of his car everyday at gas stations, malls, and hip hop conventions. Dre is performing in many local clubs every week on a consistent basis as well as house parties. So when it all boils down at the end of the day. Dre Yung knows what he wants and what he got to do to get it, and soon you will not be able to deny him. -
