About me:

We are Driffield Folk Club, a club run for people who love to play, sing or listen. Its a friendly club meeting on the third Monday of every month at the BlueBell, River Head in Driffield and new faces are always welcome. Its not a stuffy traditional folk club where only sea shantys and "last time i saw here was sailing from Liverpool.." type songs are only allowed...oh no no no! We get everything here, music from all over the world, originals and classics, irish, scottish, english...everything and we want more!!! If you are sitting at home strumming out some of your favourite tunes or writing your own songs then please bring your instrument down because we would love to hear what you got. Its not a place where only virtuosi get to take the stage - if you are brave enough to play then we will appreciate you, we all started with a first time too remember! Quite often we get pleasent suprises and a real talent appears from out of the blue and as welcome as that is, its always good to have a new face come out of their bedroom or garage and do their thang. We like to celebrate St Patricks and Burns Night, or generally we like just having a do just for the sake of it. Each year we host the Driffield Folk Festival on the August Bank Holiday where we all get to meet old friends, make new friends, drink beer and play tunes we never heard of before. This is a free festival - no admission fees for any event, now in its fifth year and going from strength to strength. In the past we have had some big names like Edwina Hayes, Stuart Hardy, Gibby MacNaught, Apu and each year we have our regulars coming from all over the country to join in. Have a look at whats happening. ..

Who I'd like to meet:

We want to meet you! More information about events, tickets and contacts can be found at: www.driffieldfolkfestival.co.uk
