Greek Gray - The inspiration for Pat's Driving for Donors campaign came from Greek. A heroic young woman who lost her battle with AML Leukemia on August 14,2006. Greek's story touched Pat's heart and motivated him to do something to help others who struggle to find a matching bone marrow donor.

With all of your help Pat won the CNN Heroes Viewers' Choice Award on 12/06/07. This is truly a milestone in his quest to raise awareness and help save the lives of people with Leukemia!
I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in March 2006. This diagnosis came after a long, painful year suffering from what we then thought was Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. The pain and swelling in my joints got so bad that I was in a wheelchair for 5 months because I was unable to walk a single step. When the pain got worse and I had a fever that wouldn't go away my doctors put me in the hospital where they found out that I really have Leukemia. I am undergoing chemotherapy treatments at St. Josephs Children's Hospital in Tampa, Florida. I am almost done with my first year of intense chemo (we go 3 times a week for treatments!) Then I will have 2 1/2 more years of Maintenance chemotherapy.
I live near Tampa, Fl with my mom, Claudine, stepdad, Keith, 2 brothers, Nathan, 12 and Tucker, 6, and my sister Jocelyn. My dad, William, lives in South Florida. I have 3 dogs and I want a Bulldog puppy but my parents say no:(
I love sports, especially hockey and baseball! I can't play hockey or baseball right now because of the Leukemia and that makes me sad but I love going to see games! I have to be careful because my immune system is week and I can't get hurt because that could be dangerous for me if my platelets are low. I also am a straight A student and really like history. I can't go to school because of my chemotherapy treatments so a teacher from the Hospital Homebound program comes to my house 2 times a week. I really like school and have been on the principals list with straight A's (even with all the chemo) for the past 2 years!
I heard about the shortage of bone marrow donors , especially for minority groups, when a friend of mine died because she couldn't find a matching donor. That made me so sad and I want to do something to help! I am part hispanic, and am scared that if I need a bone marrow transplant one day there may not be a match available for me.
I am excited to plan and organize DRIVING FOR DONORS and I hope you will help me. It is scary because it is such a large task but I can do it with your help!
Please help make Pat's dream come true!
Pat wants to add 2007 new donors to the National Marrow Registry in 2007 and with YOUR help, he can!
Can you please help me save the lives of people who need a bone marrow transplant?
Recently, someone I knew died from Leukemia after they were unable to find a matching bone marrow donor. I found out that there is a critical need for people to be added to the National Marrow Registry, especially minorities! I was scared that one day I may need a bone marrow transplant and may not be able to find a matching donor. That day I decided to do something to help and the idea of ONE CHILD'S DREAM / DRIVING FOR DONORS was born.
Starting on May 5, 2007, I will begin DRIVING FOR DONORS! My family and I are going to drive across the country in a special "Donormobile" . We will host Bone marrow donor drives and add potential donors to the National Marrow Donor Program Registry.
We need alot of help and resources from individuals and businesses who want to help save lives. Please contact us at info@drivingfordonors.com to see how you can help us today!

We need their help to fundraise, promote the event, and coordinate media and volunteers for the actual event in that city.
