About me:
Hey folks. I was born November 2, 1934. I am married with three children, four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. I am a born-again Christian. My spiritual gift is Pastor-Teacher. I have come to MySpace for the third time.
This site will be used to promote Jesus Christ as the ONLY way into heaven and into the presence of God the Father. It will promote godliness, holiness, and integrity as reachable goals in this life.
My desire is to use my space on MySpace to create a network of Christian friends whose sole desire it is to magnify our Lord Jesus Christ by living a holy lifestyle. This means that no one will be accepted as a friend on this site whose MySpace contains or is linked-to sites that contain foul or abusive language. (If you have to ask what is meant by foul or abusive, you are already suspect.)
This site will not accept as a friend anyone whose MySpace contains any of the following: pictures or anything else that promotes or condones sex outside of marriage, the use of legal or illegal drugs for recreational or "religious" purposes. (Don't split hairs. Don't push the envelope. You know what this means.)
If someone asks, "Dr. Jim, why do you have a MySpace account? Isn't there a lot of 'filth' out there?" My answer, "Yes, there is, and Jesus came down from heaven and stepped right into the middle of this mess to save people like you and me, but in doing so, He didn't become like us by violating His heavenly Father's will."
Another question that I am often asked: Would Jesus have a MySpace account? My answer: Absolutely, YES, but He wouldn't acknowledge as friends anyone who was not doing the will of His heavenly Father.
Friends are people with whom you have rapport and compatibility. Jesus walked with sinners, but He didn't lower His standards to do so.
To walk with sinners is not wrong -- until you allow them to influence you.
How about joining me on MySpace as my friend -- but on my terms -- a commitment to holy living.
