About me:
What would you do with a terminal illness, terrible tragedy, and a boatload of cash? That is the premise of my book. Join John Eyre on the epic road trip to end his life and his search for what is the true meaning of a life well lived. Think "The Odyssey" with a VW van, skiing, mtn biking, a lot of alcohol, and the world's second largest ball of string.
I'm Darren, and I'm just a guy making my way the best I can. I have the coolest kids in the world.....no, seriously, my kids are way cooler than yours. I have amazing friends. While good friends will bail you out of jail, my friends will be sitting in the cell with me saying, "Man, we F'ed up this time." My dog is an unapologetic freak, I believe Fat Tire is the elixir of the gods, and the bumps at Mary Jane are my happy place.
I'v survived a year in the state of New England. I still have the letter R in my vocabulary, I don't drive a Crown Vic or Caprice, and I've resisted joining the Red Sox nation. Other than that, I've assimilated pretty well.

skiing, cycling (road and mtn), reading, writing, traveling, trying cool new things. I've jumped out of an airplane, raced bicycles, climbed a few mountains, run a couple marathons, read all of Shakespeare's plays, and once streaked through a Vegas casino. I like to face the wrong way in the elevator, order a burrito at starbucks, take my imaginary friends to the movies (they always get in free), search my home for hidden cameras, and try my very best not to act my age. Some day I hope to solve the great mystery of how an odd number of socks always comes out of the dryer. I'm still working to perfect my karaoke mime act.According to Myers, Briggs, and Jung, I'm an INTJ. According to some who know me well, I'm more of a MFSOB.
