I also very recently (August 2006) moved from the UK to the USA and am just finding my feet with respect to writing, performing and otherwise messing around with music. Particularly as most of my equipment has not yet arrived (still being shipped with the rest of my possessions)!
I managed the number one spot on the old MP3.com's World Jungle chart for several days, I've played guitar and keyboards live with bands and I also DJ (and occasionally vocalize), but this is my place for dumping anything that spews forth from my fevered brain, so don't expect miracles...

The E-mu Rom was in my P2k and it was the vintage one. I moved it out and put it into an E-mu MP-7 command station which I must add still has a lot to offer even now.
It's like the P2k and World one on the editing front but with a load more to offer. Plus it's a desktop unit with pads like an MPC.
