Heroes
Grandfather-For being the greatest model of integrity in my life. My Dad-For being the greatest model of love in action. My Wife for always working for what is right endlessly (I love that about her). My biggest Hero is my savior, he is the greatest source of love, peace and hope.

I'm a Full time student at Emmanuel School of Religion working toward a Masters of Divinity. I'm married to a beautiful woman (Bri). We are living in Johnson City, TN. Bri is going to finish her BS Degree at ETSU. Then who really knows for sure. Maybe then New Zealand, Military Chaplain, church planter. All viable options.
I'm just a regular guy. I know that doesn't give you alot of information. I like to work on things with my hands. Bri and I remodeled our house from top to bottom and I loved it. If I wasn't going into ministry I might concider remodeling for a living. I also like to mess around with computers. I worked as a computer tech for 5 years with Boise Parks and Recreation. So I give you the permission to call me a geek or nerd or what not.
Who I'd like to meet: People, Mostly people who are still alive.
Check out some of the websites I've recently put together

Wow, two more years in Tennessee. How are you dealing with the humidity? I heard it is real bad there. Good you will be back to school and are doing good. When i was in Kenya i worked with an organization started by a Kenyan woman and her husband. It is in the Mathare Valley a slum in Nairobi, and it is called Missions of Hope International. Their theme is "Turning the Valley into the Mountain of God". Pretty awesome; and they have seen God doing that since the beginning 15 years ago. The ministry has really grown in the last year as more support from US churches has come and the number of schools and churches has doubled. There are over 2000 children in school now and several ministries also coming from MoHI. One of those is the Business Development Systems. I don't know if I told you about that, but i worked with their team of 4 people who organize and run that part of the ministry. We went with them to their business meetings and did a lot of relationship building, praying, and learning in the Valley. There really are a ton of stories, but one thing I really value now is the Rob Bell Nooma "Rich" and the campaigns for child sponsorship. People really do live on less than a dollar a day and sponsoring a child really does change his life. It is so much more than food, clothing and education, it is a hope for a future and more than that, hope in Christ. Praise God. Praise Him all the time.
Derek, i just saw your update. Sorry about the sunburn man. However, as i have just returned from Kenya for the summer on the internship i found at the NMC, i remembered that I saw you there and thought you might like to know that I learned a lot and grew a lot and saw God work in so many new ways. How has your summer been? are you going back to finish your masters this year?
Everything in the truck made it without a scratch!! I told my family that you "saved our bacon"!! You have rightfully earned the title of "Master Packer". Thanks so much for your help....you were a blessing.
Hey Derek! You should check out the "Murphy Clan" pic in my pictures. We made yours and Bri's face on paper plates and put them in the picture. :) Hope you're doing well! It was so nice seeing you while you were here! Miss you guys!!
