Drock was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He started out as a dancer, where he was named D-rock because he could rock the dance floor. As he branched out he did not want to loose his identity from being a dancer so fused together he adopted the name, Drock. The name completes him as an artist and ever since then, it has stuck.
His music is described as “life music.”
"I feel that we all go through a lot of the same life experiences and I want to share mine with people who enjoy music."
Some say it is a twist between Lenny Kravitz meets Kid Rock down in the South.
"I want my music to convey Love, to teach people that Love is real, it is still out there and it is ok to believe in it. I hope my music can be used to help them through their struggles and experiences letting them know they are not alone."
I just want all my fans to know that the person who wrote it, sings it and spreads it has lived to tell about it. Like they say, what doesn't kill you, makes ya stronger!
My biggest musical influences consist of Lenny Kravitz, Michael Jackson, Prince, Cold Play, Kenny Loggins, James Brown, Speech, OutKast, along with all the Artists that have allowed me the privilege to work with them. Drock has had the pleasure to share his talents through Artist Development and Choreography on such acts as T-Boz of TLC Laface records, Speech of Arrested Development TVT Records, Diana DeGarmo of RCA, Sammie of Capital Records, Kandie of Xscape Columbia Records, Lloyd The Inc./ Universal Records, N-Toon Dreamworks Records, Ray Convict/Enterscope, Co-Ed Universal Records, Ms. Cherry Streetwiz Records, Edubb upcoming Rap group from Atlanta, Meant2B, VYBE, Tre Universal Music Group.
Although the world has seen just a glimpse of Drock's talent and showmanship through previous artists', he is now stepping out on the stage and doing his own thing as "DROCK." He has been seen performing in Atlanta at the Apache Cafe, Blues Train Cafe and the Crowe's Nest.
