Right now I’m growing, micrometers at a time. Now more than ever, that proverb means so much to me. There are days when I wonder if I’m even making progress, and then I look back and realize that I’ve changed. I get impatient and feel hopeless sometimes, but it’s those times when I realize that I’ve made progress that keep my eyes forward. I’m learning to appreciate where I am right now, to enjoy life and be happy to be alive. I’m savoring every moment, and I’m living my life. I know that all God wants from me right now is to be with me.

I’ve recognized that I’m in the desert of my life, but the desert doesn’t go along forever, and I know I will be on the lush, cool side of a mountain, sooner or later. I’m appreciating the scenery where I am, because the desert can be beautiful in it’s harshness.
