Born in Manitoba, Drew Rogers is a 23 year old singer-songwriter currently residing in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 2006, Drew completed writing on his first four songs and recorded them at his guitar teacher’s studio as a rough demo, titled “Here Goes Nothing”. One of the songs on the demo was played on local radio, and also got the attention of one of his coworkers, Brandon Tryon, also a musician and songwriter. Recognizing the potential in his music and the opportunity for improvement, Drew enlisted Brandon as his drummer and lead guitarist and began recording with local ECMA-winning and Juno-nominated producer Dennis Field at Denmark Productions in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Originally planning to simply rerecord and improve the songs on “Here Goes Nothing”, Drew instead realized that with the resources and talents of both Dennis and Brandon, he could create much better songs from scratch rather than simply revisit his older songs.
The six-song EP “Unresolved”, released in early 2007, was the result of these early sessions. While three songs from the demo were rerecorded for the EP, Drew wrote three new songs, one of which was “Dear Michelle”. Upon the recording of this track, Drew’s writing sensibilities began to shift into a rockier, more mainstream sound. Submitting this song to FACTOR, a nation-wide grant program funded by the Canadian government, “Dear Michelle” ended up winning a New Talent Demo Award in the Rock genre. The song also went on later in 2007 to win Rock Song of The Month for August at Song of The Year, an international songwriting contest with entries from all over the world.
At this time, Drew began to co-write his music with Brandon, whose punk-rock sensibilities and more aggressive style of playing interacted well with Drew’s theory-oriented and classically melodic tendencies to create more sophisticated and genre-bending songs such as the soaring “A Song That Reminds Me Of You” and the power ballad “Unconditional”. Brandon’s guitar work also allowed Drew to move behind the piano, an instrument that is featured extensively on such tracks as “Everything Went Wrong” and “Stay Safe”.
“heart-shaped”, his debut full-length album, is the culmination of a lifetime of preparation. These 11 songs vary in sound from punk-rock, to piano rock, to acoustic and classical.
Drew Rogers has also recently begun recording of his second album, "Sound Organized In Time", to be released in the near future. This ambitious project has already produced the sonic "The First Time" as well as the NIN- and Muse-inspired "Someone's Waiting", both available for listen on the Player. " Already an internationally-recognized songwriter, it is difficult to predict exactly what is to come, but with the success he has already achieved in the space of less than a year, we are sure to hear great things from Drew in the future.
Had a thought while driving home and I wanted to share it. Hope you don’t mind…
When we truly let go of past hurts, hang-ups and disappointments and choose to live in the moment, in the now, in the PRESENT, life truly can be a GIFT.

Hello, my friend. Another Tankism to brighten your week. Hope it helps :)
Look at life from the perspective of what you have NOW, what you are grateful for NOW. If you continue to look into the PAST as to what you have lost, when you open your PRESENT, you will not like what you get. However, by focusing firmly on where you are directing your FUTURE by thinking on those things which are good and pure and what you do want to happen, as you unfold your PRESENT, you will find the gift that you know you really want. And, it really is that simple. As a wise person once said: If you believe you can't, you're rightif yet if you believe you CAN, you're right. What do you believe? :)
