DROPKICK ME JESUS formed in early 1992 with original members Nick Lombardi (Vocals), Tim Bracken (Lead Guitars),  Paul Leitner (Guitars), Domenic Vitale (Bass/Vocals) and Tim Crocker (Drums).  While discussing band names at a local bar, a drunken patron leaned in and suggested Dropkick Me Jesus.  The rest was history...

Shortly after, Tim Crocker was out and new Drummer Tim Wright was in.  The band began writing songs and playing shows at venues like Lee's Palace, The Opera House, The Spectrum, The Big Bop, Danforth Music Hall, The Brees at Carleton University, Nags Head North and the famous Gas Works.

As things began to pick up, the band decided they needed to apply to incorporate the band name.  The government didn't approve of the name DROPKICK ME JESUS and refused the application.  That night, with the help of their good friend Joe Baptista, who just happened to have access to every press outlet in Canada, the band put together a drunken, tongue-in-cheek press release reflecting their objection to the governments ruling....

The next day was a very quiet news day.  Every outlet picked up the story and DKMJ had their 15 minutes of fame.....

Unfortunately, the band was only part way through recording new material and they were unable to captialize on the unbelievable amount of publicity they had generated. The band stuck together for a few more months but eventually the band members went their separate ways.

Singer Nick Lombardi retooled the band adding new members Marc D'Amico (Guitars), Rob Donia (Bass) and Anthony Lombardi (Drums) and recorded the self titled album on their newly formed Neptune Records.  They played shows for the next 2 years.  Eventually, this line-up disbanded to pursue other projects. (Attomik, etc)
