“I’m still waiting for you to notice me now…notice me now.”
Is this a cry for attention? At first glance, perhaps. What band doesn’t want to be noticed? However, this line from Drop of Grey’s flagship modern rock single, “Waiting” speaks volumes about who they are as individuals, and why they play music.
Vocalist Eric Musser, guitarists Ben Rider and Clint Goldschmidt, drummer Ryan Kiscaden, and bassist Dan Rider got their start in June of 2006. After a few member changes added bassist Glenn Kitch in the fall of 2007 and parted ways with Clint Goldschmidt in spring of 2008. Together they have approached music and the music industry with a hard working, blue collar mentality. Recently lead guitarist Ben Rider and drummer Ryan Kiscaden have parted ways with the band, but this hasn't stopped Eric and Glenn from pushing onward with the band. Working together as a team along with former bandmates and friends... Drop of Greys original music is now taking on a new direction with a modern sound.
Drop of Grey has played all of the top venues in Central Pennsylvania including The Chameleon Club, Hardware Bar, Gulliftys, Fat Daddys, The Village, and many in between. In January of 2008, the band took their talents into the studio to record their first EP, and recorded at Saturation Acres where such national acts as Fuel and Breaking Benjamin have laid down there first tracks.

"Drop of Grey's "Evolution of Sound" is a valuable treasure of motivational, emotional and relate able music. It's an album that music lovers can only hope to stumble upon. Strong lyrics and vocals, heavy guitars, and crisp and clear drums allow listeners to discover something new each time through."
- ktrock, ktrock.info (Sep 23, 2008)
"“Evolution” is a truly professional recording, and is armed with five radio-ready tracks that, given a chance, is sure to catch on with the modern rock crowd. It’s sound is familiar, but Drop of Grey’s music can stand out among like-minded radio tunes. If you hear it, you’ll know it’s them and not other cookie-cutter rockers."
Eric Scicchitano, Shinbone Magazine (October Edition)
"I just love how all of the lyrics are so crystal clear, but so is every instrument. Every member in Drop of Grey is extremely talented and they took advantage of all those talents in this 5 song EP. I love how you’re listening to every song and you start to think, oh, here’s the ballad and then all of a sudden you find yourself head-banging to an amazing, music filled track. I’m personally glad there are only 5 tracks and they are all “hits.” They didn’t “fill” it with songs that weren’t up to par. It’s a CD that you definitely won’t have to find the “next” button for, if anything you’ll be reaching for “repeat.”

"After this disc drops I can say they will not be waiting much longer to be noticed. The band travels musically on this disc very well for only a five song album. All in all the disc does a good job of showcasing the evolution of this band and its a great statement disc."
- Nick from the Doctors Office
"After listening to the first 30 seconds of Waiting, I see no reason why this can't be played on rock radio. It's truly great."
- Grammy nominated Paul Chiacchierini; Racetrack Sound Studios
"Drop of Grey is a mid-state band that is definitely worth checking out. They formed in May 2005, and already have a huge fan-base. The heavy guitar work in "Waiting" and "Again" prove their status as an original rock band. Exciting guitar riffs break up the repetition and keep listeners interested"
- Mae Palmer; Pennlive.com
"Drop of Grey gives new meaning to the term heavy. Blasting out of the gate with "Leave It", they did not give you one moment to rest."
- Nick from the Doctors Office Awards
"These guys can entertain on a big or small stage. Their sound is very well defined and they are ready to surprise you. With all their energy I think of them as a "Ball of Fire" instead of just a "Drop Of Grey"
- Rachel Rocks; The Pennsylvania Musician Magazine June 2007
"It was great seeing Drop Of Grey back on a big stage where they can put all that Taurine to good use! Eric was back on top of his game leading every song, with Clint happily harmonizing on the side. Dan and Ben were definitely able to move around a lot more and they took advantage of every empty space they had. Those guys definitely like to move. Eric's voice is so clear, with original music, its definitely a plus when you can actually understand the words. A couple of my favs were "Asleep" and "Unfaithful". They are so hyper, you really feel the positive energy flying off the stage."

I remember many moons ago, telling this band how special it was....that we had something really good here. I think that advice fell on a couple of deaf ears...turns out grandpa Clint knew what he was talking about. Eric....Glenn....don't let this die. I think finally everyone involved in this project realizes what we had. No matter what happens, I've always wished the best for everyone involved...but I think finally a couple of you understand how far this thing can go. GO FOR IT GUYS!!! DON'T LET THIS OPPORTUNITY SLIP AWAY!!!!!!
P.S. Whoever is singing backup on "Asleep" needs to be fired. That guy sucks. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
I just want to say thank you so much to every one that has stopped by here from time to time still, checked out the D.o.G breathes again blog, and still enjoys Drop's music. I couldn't feel any more amazing than I do right now. Eric and I are working hard to bring this band back to life the way it was meant to be again. My gratitude and appreciation to all of you is over flowing my very being. I'm very excited to see the future road, run into all of our friends made along the way, and enjoy the music with all that comes with it once again.
Thank you all so very much for the support and friendships. I hope we meet again soon!
really dig the new version of leave it. the intro and ending are much improved and totally badass. would have loved to hear it recorded like Evolution of Sound.
