Droppin' Dimez, Canada's ONLY All-Female hip hop show, has been one of the top-rated programs at CKLN 88.1FM for almost a decade. The show is comprised of MelBoogie, JJ Rock & Big G, a trio of females who know how to hold their own and do damage on the turntables and the mic.

  DJ MelBoogie has a history with college radio that goes 15 years deep.  She is the resident DJ for Honey Jam, and has been a speaker/panelist at a variety of music industry conferences representing women in hip hop . She has made several television appearances, including MTV Canada, Much Music, New Music, Toronto Life, and Fashion Television's spin-off, Ooh-La-La.  As the Marketing Director for Soul Choice Entertainment Group, Mel has produced events and done PR for a variety of artists, including Maestro (Fresh-Wes),  Little Brother, Jully Black, Ron Artest, Theology 3, North America's largest cultural festival, Caribana,  and several other DJs throughout the country.

  In addition to being on DD, JJ Rock is known across Canada for being one of the first female mixtape heavyweights.  Formerly part of Ottawa's Groove Train Ent. (alongside Scott Boogie), knowledge of JJ's skills on the decks has spread like wildfire, thanks in part to her mixtape series, including "Girls Gone Gangsta", "Extreme Heat Alert" and "Time 2 Rock".  The newest JJ Rock release, "Million Dollar Mixtape", has just hit the streets.  Along with opening for Ray J, Little Brother and Evidence with MelBoogie during their Toronto tour dates, JJ Rock has also played in various clubs in Toronto, Montreal,Ottawa, Washington, and in the UK.  This past summer, JJ was one of the official DJ's for the JamVan High School tour. 

  Big G compliments the show by giving listeners the 411 on entertainment, concerts, politics and community news every week. Her music industry experience includes work with BMG Music Canada, Shaman Entertainment, Toronto Urban Music Festival, PhemPhat/Honey Jam, Soul On Ice Events and Fusicology Toronto.  Also a freelance writer and event promoter, G continuously has her ear to the streets to inform the listeners on everything they need to know, whether entertaining or food for thought.

  The show is heavily influenced by everything from soul to reggae, and of course, hip hop.  The ladies have interviewed artists such as Common, Michie Mee, KRS-One , JD Era, Ghostface Killah, Eternia, Lil' Mo, Point Blank, Jeru the Damaja, Pharoah Monch, CL Smooth, Remy Ma and many more.  Indie artists definitely get top priority on the show, and listeners get to be the first to hear brand new music.
