The Droptops are a rockabilly trio from Rockville, Maryland. They are an energetic live act that always gets the crowd on their feet. They have brought their brand of 50s rock n’ roll to the DC metro area since 2003. Their primary influences include the Sun Records sound and 50s rockers like Gene Vincent, Eddie Cochran, Little Richard, and Chuck Berry. They are also influenced by and cover classic country artists along the lines of Johnny Cash, Faron Young, and Tennessee Ernie Ford, as well as western swing and big band groups like Moon Mullican and Louis Jordan. You can catch them at the Sidebar Tavern, the Full Moon Saloon, Sharp Shooters Billiards Café, Chick Hall’s Surf Club, the Cheater Slicks c.c.’s Stars n’ Bars Rockin’ Roadshow in Manassas, VA, the Mobtown Greaseball in Baltimore, MD, and the Hardknockers c.c.’s Rock-N-Cruise in Richmond, VA.
