   About drox
I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.” - Dr. Seuss

I am a producer, DJ, vinyl collector and above all music lover. I have spent the past 10 years listening to, producing and playing a wide spectrum of music to a diverse range of crowds throughout Sydney, Melbourne and the Blue Mountains and am now residing in London.

I have a regular podcast called radio waves from space. My mixes include music and samples drawn from all spheres bringing together fresh sounds that tries not to get too tied down in genres.

I love the beach, travelling, learning about people, how things work and analog electronics, design, observing and interacting with inspiring people like you!

If you would like to submit your tracks to be considered for the podcast you can do so here

You can subscribe to the podcast by clicking on the "add to itunes" link. It will only work if you have itunes installed.

Hi,

I'm happy to announce that my new album "Songs From The Films Of David Lynch" is out now.

"Truly unsettling and perplexingly brilliant... testament to both the quality of Lynch’s soundtracks and Truax’s talents" - The Skinny

"Truax is paying homage to a kindred spirit with this album. It's the best kind of tribute – affectionate and respectful, but with its own quirks and imaginative leaps and its own distinct identity." -The Scotsman

"Great stuff." -Buzz Magazine

THE DIARY (Worlds Greatest Rap Megamix)

Apr 2 2009 9:35 AM

THE DIARY Volume 1.5 (20 Years of the Remix)
NOW AVAILABLE FOR FREE DOWNLOAD AT WWW.MUSICOFSUBSTANCE.COM!

“This CD just shows how much Chris Read knows about historic Hip Hop production techniques - Its just a shame he wasn't creating this stuff during the eras he's covering as we would probably rate the man as being up there with Paul C, Pete Rock, Premier and all! - I can't think of another Hip Hop CD I've played so much in years” (ANDY SMITH - PORTISHEAD)

"Chris continues the rap anthology concept of his super-dope 'The Diary' megamix in the shape of a remix project, re-lacing acapellas from 89-2009 with historically accurate beats. 'The Diary 1.5' serves as a great platform for Chris to showcase his ample beat-making skills whilst referencing those who've inspired him." (DJ WOODY - FORMER WORLD ITF CHAMPION)

“Wicked! The perfect companion to The Diary Mixtape. Shows an impressive knowledge of sounds from all eras.” (MR THING - FORMER WORLD DMC CHAMPION)

"Crazy! This is Rap History in the making. Chris proves his production skills on this one to the fullest. A wonderful and refreshing journey through all eras of hip hop. Double thumbs up!" (MARC HYPE - FORMER ITF CHAMPION)

PIXEL MUSIC - SCIENTISTS AND SPIRITS
Available exclusively on Beatport.com

Steve Rachmad (Music Man; Tresor; Delsin): Love this release! This gives me the real detroit techno feeling. Very nice production!
Chymera (Delsin, Ovum, NRK):Interesting sound. I like M-theory, will play in deeper sets
Efdemin (Dial; Cocoon; Liebe Detail): Nice Music, Keep On!
Donato Dozzy (Aqualplano/Dozzy Rec; Mental Groove): Finally some good music...are all beautiful, they complement each other and one in particular caught my attention: Unsubstance.
Mikkel Metal (Kompakt; Echocord): It's good solid work. My favorite is no doubt "unsubstance" the last track. I really like it's astmosphere. Keep up the good work.
Christian Zingales (Blow Up Magazine): I really enjoy the tracks, review on the May issued of BlowUp magazine
Johannes Volk (Axis; Lifeworld)The promo of "scientists and spirits" is dope, very deep spiritual stuff. really like it
Rose & Ulysse (Liebe Detail; Motoguzzi):Faithfull work keep it like that
